For the third consecutive week, Track Two (inner track) will be utilized for the eleven-race program at Selangor Turf Club on Sunday.
The high-grade contest, the 1020m Supreme A (Race 9), features four runners emanating from the recent G1 Tunku Gold Cup, including the beaten favourite AWESOME STORM (1). It was arguably the worst performance from Malaysia’s highest-rated galloper when he lost ground abruptly after entering the home straight. AWESOME STORM (1) still has the class to win, but there will be doubts about whether he can bounce back from that poor performance.
THE MAREEBA MANGO (6) was far from disgraced in his first foray at G1 level, finishing 4.5 lengths from the winner in the Tunku Cup, and the 7yo was successful at this grade earlier in the year.
CHONKY POTATO (8) has an excellent first-up record and is primed following a couple of sharp trials in recent weeks.
SAN ANDREAS (9) hasn’t won since taking out the Tunku Cup last year but appears well-placed at the weights and can break the drought without surprising.
XENA (3) is a handy sit-sprinter who resumes from a five-month break and has been competitive at this level previously.

Promising 4-year-old, CAPTAIN TWENTYTWO (2), will be attempting to go three from three in the 1020m Class 4 contest (Race 10). The HY Cheng-prepared runner draws wide, but his exceptional early pace will place him in good stead to chalk up the winning hat trick. The gelding has also been kept up to the mark with an impressive trial win here a week ago Tuesday.
DRAGON CAVALLO (1) and JUNGLE KING (3) are both coming off some good form lines and are reliable beginners drawn on the immediate inside of CAPTAIN TWENTYTWO (2).
Veteran campaigner, TERMS OF REFERENCE (5), is still competitive at this level and shouldn’t be left out of calculations, while PERFECT MISSION (8) resumes from a long break and trialed strongly on Tuesday.
