Yes, we all do it. We all wonder what it must be like to have the money of a King or a Queen but all we can do is hope and throw a couple of bucks on horses called King or Queen.
Last week it was trainer Alan Greeff who caught our eye for his runners, and yes, he did have a few winners. On Friday it is rival Gavin Smith who could have a good day on the Polytrack at Fairview.
It could start as early as Race 1a Maiden Plate over 1400m, as his runner, gelding King Of Queen, has been very unlucky not to win recently.
The What A Winter gelding has been runner-up in his last three starts with his latest defeat being over the course and distance.
Jockey Muzi Yeni was on him in his last two starts but has been replaced by Craig Zackey.
Zackey was aboard King Of Queen in the first of his three runner-up performances and on that day he was caught in the last stride by Puerto Plata.
That form has held up well with that gelding winning his next start and then unlucky not to complete the hat-trick.
Global View filly Queen Of Jazz showed inexperience on debut but has run well twice since then.
She showed good improvement in her second start when chasing home a decent filly in Blue Palace.
She looked like a likely winner of her third start, but that race was switched to the Polytrack and she was again all at sea trying that surface for the first time.
Queen Of Jazz did well to stay on for third behind Eat Prey Love.
Zackey again takes over from Yeni on the filly in Race 2, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1400m, and blinkers have been reached for. This could be her day.
Forest Spy, who lines up in Race 4, a MR 74 Handicap over 1200m, was a decent juvenile but it took him a long time to get back in the winners’ box. However, he did it style last week and a three-point penalty may not be enough to stop him from following on.
Jockey Louie Mxothwa has been unbeaten in three rides on Cruise Control and he can keep that winning run going by taking out Race 5, Pinnacle Stakes over 1200m.
Cruise Control has only won once in four starts over 1200m but from a good draw and with a jockey who knows him well he could be the best banker for the meeting.
