Race 1 Number 5 TIGRESS

This eight-year-old mare was heavily backed as the favourite in her last start. However, starting from barrier 11, she jumped awkwardly, striking the rider, and was very slow to begin. This put her on the back foot, and she never posed a threat. Since then, she has delivered a promising trial performance between runs, indicating that with a clean jump, she could be a winning contender.

Race 5 Number 6 CAPTAIN LEGACY

This six-year-old has acquitted himself well since his arrival in Malaysia, posting one win and four placings from six starts, but he had clear excuses the last time he raced 50 days ago. From barrier 10, he was slow into stride and raced wide throughout, while a vet inspection revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-fore. Clearly, he is better than that run, and expect him to rebound into form here.

Race 6 Number 1 TELLER

He was far from disgraced in the Group 1 Perak Derby last time out when letting down well to finish sixth over 2000m. Dropping to Stayer Stakes C company this week, he is ideally placed at the weights in a field mixed with Class 4 and Class 5 horses, which presents him with a good chance to return to the winner’s list.

Race 11 Number 8 ALWAYS INNOCENT

He was last seen finishing fifth at Kranji in September last year, and his debut in Malaysia this week has garnered plenty of interest. He has trialled well leading up to the race, and as a three-time winner in Class 5 at Kranji, it won’t be surprise for him to run a big race against moderate rivals.
