Race 2 – 6 MR VALIANT

He has genuinely improved since joining the stables of David Hall this season, breaking through for his first local win three starts ago. The last time he raced, he checked in a luckless eighth place finish after he was ridden last from a wide barrier and was unable to be properly tested over the concluding stages.

With a better gate in barrier 4 this week, he can position himself closer to the speed which will enhance his chances of securing another win.

Race 4 – 10 DAN ATTACK

He has been in good form, but the race shape was against him last start, where he finished fourth, beaten by 3L. On that occasion, he mapped close to the speed in a fast-run race and felt the pinch late, while first, second, and third came from no less than 6.5 lengths off the lead speed at the 400m mark.

In a race lacking depth, he will get his chance to bounce back, with prior good form behind Sports Legend and Beauty Infinity reading well for a race like this.

Race 1 – 11 H Z TOURBILLON

This 6-year-old continues to slide down the ratings, and he could bounce back for a win soon. In his last start, he drew the widest gate, gate 12, and finished 5.5 lengths behind in seventh place. However, there was merit to his run as his closing splits from the 400m to 200m mark and from the 200m to the finish were the fastest of the meeting. Coming into gate 2 here, the speed map and likely ‘good’ tempo will play into his hands.

Race 3 – 4 SPEEDSTAR

He enters this race having his third run back into Class 5, where his better form lies, and is off the back of an encouraging run into sixth when he was ridden cold from barrier 11 but was eye-catching late. He can bounce back anytime at this level now that he is on a career-low rating.
