PENANG RACE PREVIEW – SUN 26 MAY
RACE 1 This race features the largest field of the day and is the most open contest on the five-race program. FLYING SPIDER (5) has previously won on this track and can quickly atone for his neck defeat at Ipoh seven days ago. KIPEH (4) is racing consistently and can also bounce back from a short head defeat a fortnight ago. SECRET AGENT (3) posted successive wins earlier this year and is due to break through again following two minor placings at Ipoh recently.

RACE 2 With six wins from seven starts on the Penang circuit, BIG DOCTOR (1) should lead and will be hard to run down in this four-horse lineup. NO REGRETS (3) has been competitive in high-grade races in KL recently, including a Class 3 victory in March, and is racing in career-best form. CIRCUIT MISSION (2) finished runner-up behind the progressive performer Chonky Potato at his local debut and should break through in Malaysia very soon.

RACE 3 BIG MONKEY (3) came within a neck of beating his much higher-rated counterpart, Big Doctor, at the last meeting and can make a winning return on home turf. Stablemates MANDRAKE (2) and RULE THE WORLD (4) have proven themselves at this level previously and were both safely held in the same race at Ipoh two weeks ago.

RACE 4 DISCRETELY RED (1) is nearing a win at Class 5 following encouraging efforts at the past two Ipoh meetings. His chances will be enhanced if the track is wet on Sunday. MY MONEY (2) can follow up on his Selangor victory in the “B” division of this grade last start and should attract market support. PENANG MAN (4), a beaten favorite at Ipoh recently, seems to save his best form for his home track in Penang and can go close again.

RACE 5 STARHARMONY (1) has attracted market support in the past and can break through in this lowly graded affair. LEEDSTHEWAY (3) appears better suited returning to the Penang circuit, while SUNNY FIGHTER (2) is coming off some moderate form lines this season despite running third in a small field two starts back.
