Ink in Tarry and Magic Tattoo

The Sean Tarry-trained MAGIC TATTOO runs in Race 7 - the OPEN A TABGOLD ACCOUNT - 031 314 1874 MR 112 HANDICAP at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Monday 17 June 2024.

A competitive card faces punters at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Monday one where the market combined with exposed form could prove to be the key. The day kicks off with two juvenile races where there are a host of debutantes which makes things even more complicated.

There are mostly first timers in the card opener but of those that have run, Amanatto made a promising Vaal debut for Sean Tarry who has an enviable record at this course. The experience could count enough to see her home. Feel The Wind showed some pace on debut for Yogas Govender and should come on with the experience. Jet Lavish needed her last run on the poly. She is back on turf with the blinkers back on and she can feature.

The second also has many first timers. World Pharoah just needed his last run and that form has panned out well. The stable has been short of form but that changed on Wednesday with Green Valkyrie breaking the ice for Kom Naidoo. My Boy Lollipop flopped on the poly after making a smart debut. He was not far back last time out and is the most experienced runner in the field. Good Living has not been too far back in both outings. He did find some market support last time out. Of the first timers, Dean Kannemeyer is fairly confident of a good first outing for Definitely Yes.

With nine races carded, the PA kicks off in the third with a tricky maiden.

Blowin In The Wind comes with some useful Cape form and was a beaten favourite last run at Fairview with first time blinkers. She has her first outing for Alyson Wright who’s stable is in fine form at present. Facile showed up well on debut over course and distance and should come on a few lengths from that showing for Glen Kotzen. Littleblacknumber is way better than her last effort and the extra should suit.

Buzz Bomb can get the Pick 6 off to a winning start although it is a difficult handicap. Summary: Difficult handicap. Buzz Bomb was a beaten favourite when making his handicap debut and although he has a fair weight he does look to have more improvement to come. Vermacilli is struggling for her next win but she drops back to what may prove to be a more suitable trip. The blinkers go on and Muzi Yeni gets the leg up in what could prove to be a value bet. Crested Eagle has a wide draw but has shown some improvement of late and is down in class.

Mike de Kock sends out Marauding Horde in the fifth who has been trying further in feature company of late but is back down to what could prove to be a more suitable trip. The blinkers are back on. Ancient World has been holding form in good company. He goes well over the trip and the best of the draw. He looks the pick of Mike Miller’s two runners. Master Fuego is 2kg worse off with Ancient World on their last meeting but Dean Kannemeyer’s runner is holding form well and should be in the shake-up.

If Sean Tarry doesn’t win the first he has two strong chances in Escape Artist in the sixth and Magic Tatoo in the seventh. Escape Artist has been consistent of late and takes a three-pound drop in the handicap and together with a big drop in class. Richard Fourie could notch another win for Tarry. Pinstripe has been trying further but could prove more effective over this trip. Duncan Howells stays with Rachel Venniker with her 1.5kg allowance. Nightingales Sing has been taking on stronger from wide draws since her maiden win. She has dropped in the ratings and although shouldering a big weight she should be competitive.

Magic Tattoo goes well over the distance and was narrowly beaten last run by Hitemhardsunshine and the two meet again in the seventh. Tarry’s runner is now 4kg better off with his rival and should be able to turn the tables. Lunarcam was touched off in the 400m dash last time out and is super quick. He only has 52kg to shoulder and his last win was over course and distance while Coin Spinner is over his preferred trip. The blinkers are back on and he looks competitive off this weight.

The eighth is another competitive handicap. Hereinafter has won her last two and has been creeping up the handicap. Her penultimate win was over course and distance and has twice beaten Rugger Lover. Rugger Lover has since franked that form and had her consistency rewarded after a string of second placings.  Hereinafter could again have her held at the weights. Her recent form has been on the poly but she does go well on turf. Louis Goosen has backed up Arverni Princess five days after her last run when just over a length off Poppy Of Bayeux. A 4kg claimer has her in with a light weight while stable companion Emerald Green is never far back and can finish in the money.

In the last of the day, apprentice Danyan Pillay gets his first run for Michael Roberts on Northern Warrior. The gelding has smart form over course and distance and it could be a winning debut for the apprentice although you take your chances. He will be up against Richard Fourie aboard Mar Del Plata for Tony Rivalland who also has consistent form over the trip and should be concerned in the finish. Intrepid takes a big drop in class and was not far back in stronger company last time out. Useful apprentice Trent Mayhew takes 4kg off his back and that could be enough. Fire Tonic may well have found the trip a touch far last time out and both his wins have been over course and distance.
