Shezanalister drawn to score a double

Promising four-year-old mare SHEZANALISTER is poised to score a double in the $160,000 BM88 race over 1100m at Randwick racecourse this Saturday.

Under the guidance of trainer Bjorn Baker, SHEZANALISTER has shown remarkable consistency throughout her career, notching up six wins and five placings from 14 starts. Her recent first-up victory this month was impressive, when she tracked the leader and displayed great tenacity in the straight, securing a win by a long neck over this track and distance.

From an ideal draw this week, SHEZANALISTER is expected to endure a smooth run in transit. Additionally, a 4.5kg weight drop should help offset the rise in class. As a result, she remains the horse to beat in this race.

With champion jockey William Pike aboard, four-year-old mare NOTEWORTHY is well-positioned to make a return to the winner’s list in the $80,000 RTG66+ race over 1600m at Belmont this Saturday.

NOTEWORTHY secured an easy victory at Albany four starts ago and followed up with a close second in a RTG65+ race here, demonstrating her competitiveness at the metro track level. Although she hasn’t won in her last two starts, the daughter of Charm Spirit showed promise, finishing fourth and fifth over 1300m and 1200m, respectively, each time beaten by less than three lengths.

This week, NOTEWORTHY steps up to 1600m, a distance at which she has an unblemished record. With the track expected to be soft, her wide draw might be less of a disadvantage, as winners can come from all over on such a tricky track.
