France Form Sheet – 6 August
Race Preview
C1 – PRIX DE FALAISE – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Maiden Race – Flat – EUR € 30,000
1. LADELONETTE – Well-beaten 9th of 10 on debut over 1400m at Compiegne on 22 June.
Improvement needed – watch for now
2. KASSADOR – Soundly beaten (last of 10) on debut in a newcomers’ race over 1000m at Chantilly
on 7 May. Best just to watch
3. VICTORY FOLIE – Improved with an introductory outing (8th) under her belt to finish 3rd over
1600m at Clairefontaine on 11 July. Place chance
4. KHADIDJA – Made an encouraging start to her career, finishing 4th on debut at Chantilly over
1400m on 14 July – has a little more than 2 lengths to find on REINE DE MEDICIS (5)
5. REINE DE MEDICIS – Showed promise on debut by finishing 2nd to a highly regarded newcomer
over 1400m at Chantilly on 14 July. Ought to improve with the benefit of that experience
6. SPRING LILY – Didnt go unnoticed on debut, despite finishing unplaced (8th), in a newcomers’
race over 1200m at this venue on 7 July. Would’ve gained from that experience and this extended
distance should be more to her liking
7. MAYANA – Le Brivido debutante trained by Ralf Rohne, who has engaged Hugo Besnier to ride
this filly. Market will guide
8. LES DIGGERS – Philippe Decouz-trained Saxon Warrior filly to be ridden on debut by Ronan
Thomas. One to keep an eye on
Summary: REINE DE MEDICIS (5) finished 2nd on debut, albeit 4 lengths back, behind a highly
regarded newcomer over this distance and, with improvement expected given the benefit of that
experience, it should pay to follow her progress. KHADIDJA (4) was a little over two lengths behind
that rival and would have come on with that pleasing introduction under her belt, so could make life
difficult for the selection. SPRING LILY (6), who wasn’t disgraced on debut in the Prix de Lisieux,
and VICTORY FOLIE (3), who showed improvement last time, appeal most of the remainder.

C2 – PRIX DE TOUR-EN-BESSIN – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Maiden Race – Flat – EUR € 30,000
1. GONCORA – Finished an eye-catching/fast-finishing 2nd on debut over 1400m at Dieppe on 23
July and would have come on appreciably with the benefit of that outing. On the shortlist
2. GOLDEN BROWN – Caught the eye when finishing 3rd on debut over 1400m at Chantilly on 14
July. Will make his presence felt with improvement expected
3. LIBYAN PHAROAH – Unplaced (10th) on debut at Craon over 1300m but has improved
significantly to finish 2nd in both subsequent outings, the latest over 1600m at Saint-Malo on 15
July. Can go one better with Christophe Soumillon engaged
4. EL CHIRIPA – Finished a well-beaten 8th of 10 on debut at Compiegne over 1400m on 22 June.
Must improve – watch for now
5. GREEN CAPE – Beaten favourite on debut at Chantilly over 1400m but showed enough to work
with – led for much of that race before tiring/outrun into 4th on 14 July. Would’ve plenty from that
experience so has to be taken seriously
6. DONEGAL – Didnt go unnoticed when 5th of 7 on debut at this venue over 1200m on 7 July – is
closely matched on that form with CACOFONIX (9)
7. HAZA – Beat only one rival on debut when finishing 6th over 1200m at this venue on 7 July – is
held on that form by both CACOFONIX (9) and DONEGAL (6)
8. ZAGOR – Confirmed promise of his Saint-Cloud debut (2nd) by finishing 2nd at Nantes on 3 July
– both starts over 1400m. Candidate for success
9. CACOFONIX – Made an encouraging debut on this course over 1200m on 7 July, finishing 4th
of 7 – had both DONEGAL (6) and HAZA (7) behind him that day. Not taken lightly
Summary: LIBYAN PHAROAH (3) has finished 2nd in back-to-back recent outings, so wouldn’t be
winning out of turn. However, several of these have shown enough promise to fight for victory,
including ZAGOR (8) who has also finished 2nd in consecutive starts (from as many starts).
GONCORA (1) also filled the runners-up berth recently, on debut at Dieppe over this distance, and
should make his presence felt with any improvement. GREEN CAPE (5), after a pleasing debut
4th, and GOLDEN BROWN (2), who finished 3rd first-up, are also capable of posing a threat with
progress expected. Good race!
SELECTIONS
LIBYAN PHAROAH (3) – ZAGOR (8) – GONCORA (1) – GREEN CAPE (5)
C3 – PRIX DES GORGES DE LA VIRE – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 25,000
1. AGORIA – Unplaced in 3 consecutive Quinte+ handicaps before finishing an improved 3rd off
her current mark in a 1600m ParisLongchamp handicap on 4 July – capitalised on the drop in class
and ratings. Winning chance
2. ALCALA – Improved to finish a career-best 3rd over 1950m at Châteaubriant on 16 July and
may find this shorter distance more to her liking on handicap debut. Not taken lightly
3. LYCADA – Showed improvement from run 1 to run 2 but finished a disappointing 8th last time in
a 1400m conditions race at Compiegne on 9 July. Remains open to improvement on her handicap
debut
4. HATFAVILLE – Lightly raced filly improving with each start – didn’t go unnoticed when 5th over
1400m at Compiegne on 9 July. Attractive outsider on her handicap debut
5. HASHTAG JOA – Honest and seldom far off the mark but out of sorts recently – has no more
than a place chance after her modest 6th in a 1600m claimer at Vichy on 16 July
6. TANTOMILE – Relatively consistent filly whose reassuring 5th in a 1400m conditions race at Le
Lion-d’Angers on 26 July bodes well for her chances here. Will be a factor if confirming/building on
that improvement back in a handicap
7. ROSADORA – Has shown her form and well-being recently by winning 2 (conditions races) of
her last 3 starts – the latest over 1600m at Nantes on 3 July. More to do under a 3,5kg penalty on
her handicap debut
8. ROMANCE MARINE – Fairly consistent performer who took advantage of a career-low mark to
open her account last time out – won a 1600m handicap at Saint-Cloud on 6 May. Returns from a
subsequent break under a 3kg penalty – watch for now
9. MONTE SANCHA – Runner-up in a 1600m conditions race at ParisLongchamp in June but failed
to confirm that form/improvement on her handicap debut, finishing 12th over that course and
distance on 4 July. Needs to redeem herself
10. GRACELLA – Consistent, lightly raced individual who showed her form and well-being with an
improved/encouraging 4th in a 1400m conditions race at Clairefontaine on 11 July. Candidate for
success
11. MY DESERT QUEEN – Finished a career-best 5th on her handicap debut at ParisLongchamp
over 1600m on 4 July. Must confirm that improvement to have a say
12. LIV GOLD – Made marked improvement in 2 starts with blinkers fitted – has confirmed as much
by finishing on the podium in both handicap appearances, the latest (2nd) over 1600m at Vichy on
19 July. Should play a leading role
13. LADY OF NABEUL – Consistent filly with sound references/form credentials, including a
creditable 5th over 2000m at Compiegne on her handicap (7 June). Dark horse
14. ROSA TREZY – Making handicap debut returned to the flat, having fallen in a 3600m claiming
hurdle at Clairefontaine (1 July) last time out. Best watched for now 15. SCATARINNA – Unplaced in each of 6 appearances and soundly beaten in her last 3
appearances/handicaps, the latest (12th) at Clairefontaine over 1600m on 5 July
Summary: AGORIA (1) bounced back to form with a reassuring 3rd last time, having dropped in
the weights/ratings to her current mark, and is likely to play another leading role with a repeat of
that performance. LIV GOLD (12) has turned the corner (in handicaps) racing with headgear fitted
and she also has the means to fight for victory. GRACELLA (10), who represents a stable in form,
TANTOMILE (6), and LYCADA (3) have legitimate podium aspirations.
