Video Star
Race 3 No 8 Vgor
He has been knocking on the door recently, and it’s worth noting that his last-start effort, where he was unplaced in a slowly run race, should be discounted. Those who settled off the pace were at a significant disadvantage in that contest. Before that, he ran home strongly to finish a close second over 1400m.
With some early intent, he looks capable of returning to the winner’s list anytime in the cellar grade.
Race 6 No 7 Cheval Pegasus
He was heavily supported last start, but luck was clearly not on his side. In a small field of seven, it was surprising to see him travel three-wide throughout and be caught in the final strides, beaten by just a neck into second place.
With an ideal weight and a highly winnable race this week, he should finally break through if he gets even luck in running.
Sectional Star
Race 4 No 1 Nordic Star
He may have found the 1200m distance too short in his last two starts, but he still recorded the fastest and third-fastest final 400m sectional times, finishing fifth and fourth, respectively. With the step up to 1700m, he looks like a strong contender for a Top 3 finish.
Race 8 No 5 Ace Of Diamonds
This year’s Guineas winner was thrown into the deepest water at Group 1 level recently, but he still managed a solid fourth in the G1 Lion City Cup two starts ago. With the minimum weight this week and a drop to Kranji Stakes A company, he should produce a much-improved performance.
