Race Preview
C1 – PRIX PLEBEN – 2400m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Maiden Race – Flat – EUR € 22,000
1. SPEED FOR FUN – Consistent sort with sound references/form credentials, albeit without
success – never worse than 4th in his 4 starts (has alternated between 4th and 3rd). Finished 3rd
over 2400m at Clairefontaine on 2 August
2. MR L’APOTHICAIRE – Well-bred Kodiac colt closely related to Méandre and Mqse de Sévigné.
Confirmed the promise of a debut 3rd at Compiegne in June by finishing 4th at Clairefontaine in
July and 3rd over 2000m at Deauville on 13 August
3. NEVER GIVE IN – Showed considerable promise on debut at Clairefontaine on 9 August,
finishing 2nd over 2400m (four lengths back to the 3rd). Would’ve come on appreciably with the
benefit of that experience – will have more to offer
4. FOXTROT ZULU – Caught the eye on debut at Clairefontaine, finishing 3rd over 1800m on 16
August. Would’ve gained from that experience
5. LA DO RE – Has improved in 2 starts with headgear fitted, finishing 2nd over 2300m at Angers
in June and 3rd at Vichy on 15 August over 2400m
6. BEST NIGHT – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th on debut over 2400m at Clairefontaine on
9 August. Likely improver
7. SPARUS – Florian Bellemere-trained Lawman gelding to be ridden on debut by Benjamin Marie.
Best watched for now
8. ANGELIC CHORUS – Well-bred Sea The Stars debutante trained by Francis-Henri Graffard who
has engaged Marie Vélon to partner this filly. Has to be respected with just 53kg on her back
Summary: Well-related MR L’APOTHICAIRE (2) has shown promise in 3 starts over shorter
distances and, with the likelihood of improvement over this extended trip, is good value to open his
account. NEVER GIVE IN (3) finished 2nd on debut over this distance and would have benefitted
from that experience so could fight for victory. SPEED FOR FUN (1) has the form and experience
to join that fight. Supplemented well-bred newcomer ANGELIC CHORUS (8) isn’t underestimated
under bottom weight with Marie Vélon taking off a useful 1,5kg.

1. DOLLAR INDEX – Well beaten 7th in a Conditions race at Deauville over 2000m on 15 August.
Others are preferred in this line-up
2. ALLENO – He ran well when fourth in Group 1 at Hambourg-Horn over 2400m on 7 July. Well
engaged for his first start on French soil. Big chance
3. HAWK POWER – Won two in a row, the latest in a Conditions race at Deauville over 2000m on
6 August. Mickaël Barzalona will give every assistance from the saddle
4. DRUMARD – Won three in a row, the latest in a Conditions race at Le Lion-d’Angers over 2000m
on 11 July. He has shown ability but will find this tougher
5. COETZEE – He was third in a Listed race at Deauville over 3000m on 3 August. Supplemented
for this race and wears cheekpieces for the first time. Go close
6. FLYWIRE – He finished 5th in a Conditions race at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 2400m on 16
August. Consistent sort that can contest the finish again
7. STRASSIA – She ran fourth in a Conditions race at Deauville over 3000m on 3 August. Seldom
far off them and can play a minor role
8. PRECIOUS JEWEL – She was third in a Handicap at Newmarket over 2400m on 29 June. Might
need the run and is having her first start on French soil
9. TZAROVSKHA – She ran well when 6th in Group 3 at Deauville over 2500m on 11 August. Well
weighted and she has sufficient means to fight for victory
Summary: ALLENO (2) was excellent in the German Derby when fourth and could be a bit better
than these rivals. COETZEE (5) has been supplemented for this race and was third in a Listed race
last time out. TZAROVSKHA (9) was not disgraced in a Group 3 last time out and will have her
supporters. FLYWIRE (6) is consistent but may need to do a bit more to see off these rivals.

1. GREYMARA – Finished 6th in a Conditions race at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1800m on 24
August. Needs to find a few lengths
2. PURPLE LION – He ran well when fourth in a Conditions race at Vichy over 1600m on 19 August.
Seldom far off them and can get closer at this level
3. YOUNG AND PROUD – He finished 6th in a Conditions race at Compiegne over 1400m on 28
August. A consistent sort that has performed well at this level and is not out of it
4. SLAVA OUKRAINI – She finished 6th in a Claimer at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1600m on
16 August. Moderate since winning a Claimer in June. Capable of making the frame
5. THEYKNOWWEKNOW – A runner-up on debut in a Conditions race at Vittel over 1600m on 18
August. With natural improvement can be involved in the finish again
6. FISFUL OF LOVE – She was a runner-up in a Handicap at Deauville over 1500m on 20 August.
Improved latest effort in a Handicap and is not out of it
7. EYWA – Fourth in a Claimer at ParisLongchamp over 1400m on 29 August. She was competitive
at this level and should be involved in the finish again
8. XTRALEEWAY – A 2-year-old filly by Galiway out of Xagere who makes her debut. Watch the
betting
9. GOLDY DAY – Finished 6th in a Handicap at Deauville over 1300m on 3 August. Others are
preferred in this line-up
10. TIBERIANA – She finished 6th in a Conditions race at Deauville over 1500m on 22 August.
Needs to show more and is an unlikely winner
11. MIAIMAOU – She ran fourth in a Conditions race at Deauville over 1500m on 22 August. Can
go close the first time in a Claimer
Summary: MIAIMAOU (11) has already run well twice in just three starts and should be a big player
dropped to a claimer. EYWA (7) has already been competitive at this level and should be
concerned with the finish once again. YOUNG AND PROUD (3) is consistent and should not be
too far off them at the finish. PURPLE LION (2) is another one that might be a danger.

1. UNDERPROMISE – Finished 10th in a Handicap at Vichy over 1600m on 23 August. Probably
needed the latest start and will be fitter this time
2. SANTO – He was a runner-up in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1600m on 9 August.
Despite the penalty received in June, he has remained competitive and can contest the finish
3. LOVEFORCE – She ran third in a Handicap at Chateaubriant over 1950m on 16 August. Maxime
Guyon is in the irons and will give every assistance
4. L’ETOILE DE FRANCE – She was a runner-up in a Conditions race at Saint-Malo over 1800m
on 22 August. Seldom far off them and is not out of it
5. LILITH – A winner in a Conditions race at Erbray over 2200m on 17 August. A recent winner that
has the confidence of the latest victory
6. FASHIONABLY – A winner in a Conditions race at Pompadour over 1600m on 25 August. She
is looking for a hat-trick and can be competitive
7. LOVELY MARIE – Unplaced in a Conditions race at Deauville over 1300m on 20 December.
Probably will need the run-back
8. STELLANIA – She was a runner-up in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1600m on 9
August. Can go one better and open her account
9. MIA BELLA – Finished 9th in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1600m on 9 August.
Ignore the latest effort and is capable of bouncing back
10. MISTER GAN – He ran well when third in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1400m
on 27 July. Improving and he can be involved in the finish
11. LELENTHA – Finished 6th in a Conditions race at Saint-Malo over 1800m on 22 August. Others
are preferred in this line-up
12. ENNEDI – Finished 7th in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1600m on 9 August. Poor
last two efforts and he needs to improve
13. TWIN DREAM – Unplaced in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1600m on 5 July.
Others are preferred in this line-up
14. ROXANA OF CECCA – Finished 6th in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 1600m on
9 August. Yet to make the frame
15. LAMAJESTIK – Finished 7th in a Handicap at Dieppe over 1800m on 29 July. Unreliable of late
and can play a minor role at best
16. TIGER KING – A winner at Livourne over 1500m on 13 August. Will find this a lot tougher
17. SUMMER FLIRT – Unplaced in a Handicap at Compiegne over 2000m on 7 June. Might need
the run
18. ESHBELIA – Finished 10th in a Handicap at Vichy over 1600m on 19 July. Two poor efforts
this year and is best watched for now
Summary: STELLANIA (8) indicated she may be ready to win a handicap and was good in her
recent runner-up performance. She may well score in a very open-looking race. MISTER GAN (10)
is improving so should contest the finish again. MIA BELLA (9) is better than the last run suggests
so could be a threat. SANTO (2) continue to be competitive and has to be respected.
