After a few years of disappointing results in his raids to the Eastern Cape, trainer Justin Snaith has found his form again and has been particularly lethal of late.
That form could continue with his runners at Fairview this Friday and there are two of them that may be worth a bet.
Jack In The Green has been a disappointment as he has yet to chalk up a win but he has run some good races over 1600m earlier this year and if finding that form he may be a bit too good for his rivals.
Blinkers did not work last time out at Durbanville and he was caught far back from a good draw. He did run on at the finish but was never in a position to win.
Blinkers have been removed and Muzi Yeni replaces jockey JP van der Merwe. Yeni is hungry for winners and can get the job done.
The better bet, however, from the Snaith Yard is Innamorare in Race 8, a Middle Stakes over 1400m.
This Master Of My Fate gelding has won four times over this trip and comes to the Eastern Cape in good form. The gelding found interference last time out and Yeni replaces Grant van Niekerk this time.
Snaith’s other runner on the card, Speed Machine, takes on just five rivals in Race 7, the Speedster Stakes over 1000m. This seven-year-old has not won for some time now and will need a soft track to find his best form.
He has it all to do, though, to catch speedy Cruise Control.
Cruise Control has won three from four over this course and distance and he is unbeaten in four starts with jockey Louie Mxothwa in the irons.
