is the main selection, she won on the PSF two runs ago but is capable on the turf as well. BRIONA

some impact and will be expected to be on the premises at the business end. RED COUNTESS

newcomers. GHAWAR (1) is out of a smart mare who managed to score twice and was placed
Group 3 Class. Stablemate VARENNE (6) has a nice profile and could be the main threat. HOLY
CAMELOT (7) is a son of Camelot and his dam won two races. He should be watched in the betting

from likely main threat in ARCUBIATU (12) who was a decent fourth last time and won twice in
March in Class 3 handicaps. LIGHTED GLORY (10) is one to include in all of the place bet
permutations. DENIA (9) makes up the shortlist.

14. SURPRIZE ME – Fair 3rd last time over 2000m in a Class 4 handicap at Vichy on August 14th.
Beaten just over 1L last time and is worth considering

Summary: JUSSIFER (6) has been in good shape this year with consistent form on grass and the
PSF. His latest run at Deauville was eye-catching when he was only beaten a length into second
place. He can get the better of the possible main threat BURWASH (7) who has shaped well herself
recently. She was a decent second last time at Vittel in mid-August. SPORT COUPE (3) will be in
a good frame of mind after a recent win and can not be discounted. SURPRIZE ME (14) warrants
respect off bottom weight.

SELECTIONS
JUSSIFER (6) – BURWASH (7) – SPORT COUPE (3) – SURPRIZE ME (14)

was second on her most recent start in late August at Cavaillon. PRINCE LOS (8) was one length
behind in third in the same race at Cavaillon and can give the selection the most to do. LILY APPLE
(9) also ran in the same race and was fourth. She is an each-way option. MANA SIS (7) looks best
of the remainder.

SELECTIONS
LONG STORY SHORT (3) – PRINCE LOS (8) – LILY APPLE (9) – MANA SIS (7)

C9 – PRIX FAST FOX – 1300m (a6f1/2) – TURF – Newcomers Race – Flat – EUR € 30,000

1. ZALARI – Marie Vélon takes a handy 1,5kg off the back of this Kodiac colt whose dam won a

Not to be taken lightly with Hugo Besnier in the irons
6. STARLORD – André Fabre-trained Too Darn Hot colt with Mickaël Barzalona in the saddle. Likely
to play a leading role
7. CLAPTON – Well-bred Frankel colt out of a Dubawi mare. Likely type with Maxime Guyon up for

15. ARCTIC SUMMER – Awkwardly drawn on debut but is speedily/preciously bred. Alexis Pouchin
rides this Bated Breath filly trained by Henri-François Devin

Summary: STARLORD (6) will be subjected to plenty of interest in the preliminaries, being a son
of the exciting Too Darn Hot. He could make a winning debut if not too green. CLAPTON (7) is bred
to be useful and is another candidate for success with Maxime Guyon in the irons. Marie Vélon’s
1,5kg allowance will aid the cause of ZALARI (1), so he shouldn’t be underestimated either.
ARCTIC SUMMER (15) is an attractive outsider.

SELECTIONS
STARLORD (6) – CLAPTON (7) – ZALARI (1) – ARCTIC SUMMER (15)

C10 – PRIX DE BLANQUEFORT – 1300m (a6f1/2) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 19,000

1. SUPER BUDDY – Won once and finished 2nd twice in 3 appearances on German racetracks
and made a pleasing start on French soil, finishing 3rd with headgear fitted (retained here) in a
1400m claimer at Compiegne on 28 August
2. WARIA – German filly whose 2 victories were achieved at a lower level. Makes her first start on
French soil after finishing 7th at München-Riem over 1400m on 28 July
3. MOUNT VERNON – Was thought highly enough of as a two-year-old to compete at Group III
level (7th). Finished unplaced (9th) on PSF/handicap debut on his reappearance over 1300m at
Deauville on 8 August – should do better in this grade
4. ROGUE ENFORCER – Showed promise in England as a two-year-old but has lost his way in
handicaps this term – finished tailed off at Epsom over 1000m on 1 June. One to watch in his first
start on French soil
5. BOMBEY – Versatile hard-knocking handicapper with references in the claiming category.
Soundly beaten (12th) last time in a 1400m turf handicap at Clairefontaine on 27 July
6. MISS WOO WOO – Experienced for one her age (20 starts) and has already established herself
at this level – has sound references in this category on both surfaces, including a last-start victory
in a 1300m PSF claimer at Deauville (10 August)
7. LOVECAYAN – Unplaced in 3 appearances at this level before finishing a 6th (with headgear
fitted) in a 1400m Vichy handicap on 14 August. Headgear removed
8. CHUNKA WAKAN – Has finished 5th in both appearances at this level, including in his latest
outing over 1300m on PSF at Deauville on 10 August. Place chance
9. MALTOCK D’ORGERES – Finished 3rd in a 1600m claimer on his only visit to Saint-Cloud in
June. Has lost his way/form since, finishing 9th in an 1800m conditions race at Saint-Malo on 22
August last time out
10. RUMPLETEAZER – Battling 19-start maiden who finished 7th in consecutive recent starts/PSF
handicaps, the latest over 1400m at Deauville on 25 August
11. BLUE SOMMER – Well-beaten 8th of 9 on debut at Clairefontaine over 1800m on 16 August.
Improvement needed
12. BOURBON FRESH – Soundly beaten in both outings, on debut (16th) in a PSF claimer and
over 1800m on turf in a conditions race at Saint-Malo on 22 August

Summary: MOUNT VERNON (3) looked in desperate need of his comeback outing at Deauville
last month and is worth another chance here. SUPER BUDDY (1) performed well in this category
recently and leads the opposition in the company of last-start winner MISS WOO WOO (6) who
won courageously on the Deauville PSF but has the means to remain competitive on turf.
LOVECAYAN (7) has a place chance.

SELECTIONS

C11 – PRIX KELTOS – 1500m (a7f1/2) – TURF – Class 1 Race – Flat – EUR € 38,000

1. BREIZH SKY – Classy Group-performed colt with references at the highest level. Would’ve
regained freshness since finishing a creditable 7th (not beaten far) in a 1200m Group III at Deauville
on 7 July – conditions very much in his favour
2. FAST RAAJ – Well-performed gelding with references in Group races, which include finishing
4th in back-to-back Group III races on this course over 1600m before finishing 6th at that level over
a mile at Deauville on 25 August
3. SIAM PARAGON – Speedy, capable hard-knocker with sound references/form credentials.
Likely to lead from gate No 1 and will be competitive after an encouraging last-start 2nd in 1400m
Class 1 PSF conditions race at Deauville (18 Aug)
4. DOURIANN – Didnt go unnoticed when finishing 5th over 1600m in a Class 2 conditions race at
La Teste on his reappearance. Ought to have come on with the benefit of that outing
5. CHIRIMIRI – Well-known in Quinte+ handicaps. Winner in that category over 1400m at Vichy on
16 July but unplaced (7th) carrying a 3,5kg penalty over 1600m at Deauville on 4 August. For
another day
6. RUNNYMEDE – Model of consistency and winner of his only start on this track. Finished a
creditable 4th in a 1600m Listed race at Vichy on 19 July
7. GAMESTOP – Consistent colt with solid form references/credentials at this level on both
surfaces. Has regained momentum after a 2-month break, confirmed as much when 4th in 1400m
Class 1 PSF conditions race at Deauville (18 Aug)
8. ZOOM – Consistent, versatile gelding whose competitiveness at this level is beyond doubt.
Unplaced (8th) in a Group III race over 1400m at ParisLongchamp on 26 May, hasn’t been seen
since
9. ETEL DU NINIAN – Didn’t go unnoticed when 5th in a Class 1 conditions race over 1400m PSF
at Deauville on 18 August returning from a 2-month break. Capable but inconsistent so is best
watched for now

Summary: BREIZH SKY (1) concedes weight to all but has conditions to suit, with the distance
and state of the ground very much to his liking. He gets the nod ahead of veteran RUNNYMEDE
(6) and consistent FAST RAAJ (2) who have already proven their competitiveness at this level.
SIAM PARAGON (3) shouldn’t be underestimated either, though will be stretched by this distance.

SELECTIONS

show more – for another day
2. FOUR WHITE – Runner-up on debut at Clairefontaine over 2400m and shouldn’t be hastily
condemned fos his disappointing last start (5th) at Deauville on 13 August
3. ROBIN – Unplaced (7th) on debut over 2000m at Deauville on 13 August. Should know more
about it on this occasion
4. ACHERON – Made an encouraging introduction at Dieppe, finishing 2nd over 1800m in a decent
field on 29 July. Not taken lightly
5. VILLA CASTELLO – Improving with each outing – has finished 2nd in consecutive recent starts,
the latest over 2000m at Deauville on 13 August. Candidate for success
6. GLORY NIGHT – Finished a well-beaten 13th over 2200m on debut at Clairefontaine on 11 July.
Best watched for now
7. SKY THE STARS – Far from disgraced on debut, finishing 6th over 1800m at Clairefontaine on
31 July, and would’ve gained from that experience. Wears first-time headgear
8. TYRA – Caught the eye on debut at Clairefontaine where she finished 2nd over 2400m on 9
August. Likely to improve
9. LA SPITANTE – Jonathan Leroy-trained Morpheus filly to be ridden on debut by Rosario
Mangione. One to keep an eye on
10. FIRST RING – Well-bred Calyx debutante to be ridden by Clement Lecoeuvre for trainer HenriFrançois Devin. Don’t discount

Summary: TYRA (8) found only one better on debut and should improve with that experience to
count on so she is likely to open her account. Supplemented VILLA CASTELLO (5) finished 2nd
behind an exciting prospect last time and will make life difficult for the selection if reproducing a
similar performance. FOUR WHITE (2) shouldn’t be hastily condemned for his disappointing latest
having shown enough on debut (2nd) to be competitive here, especially with improvement
expected. ACHERON (4), who was also 2nd on debut, is another likely to make progress so must
be respected.

C13 – PRIX KALDOUN – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 40,000

1. TEN HORNS – Placed in a Listed race as a two-year-old. Finished 8th in a 1200m Listed race at
Deauville on 4 August but this drop in class should serve his interests
2. SKYLIGHT BROCHARD – Runner-up in a course-and-distance handicap on 30 June but failed
to confirm that form/improvement when only 11th in a 1300m PSF handicap at Deauville on 8
August
3. TALENTUOSO – Highly rated colt with solid form references/credentials, including a 3rd on his
reappearance in a 1400m Listed race on 25 April. Soundly beaten (10th) in a 1200m Listed race
on 4 August but could atone on handicap debut
4. MEGARRY – Consistent, lightly raced colt with sound references/form credentials (albeit without
a victory in 6 starts). Finished 4th in a 1400m Group III at Deauville in early April
5. RIVER FALLS – Progressive Dubawi filly – won and finished 2nd twice in her last 3 starts. Runnerup in 1400m conditions race at Le Leion-d’Angers on 18 August
6. WAPI – Has revealed considerable means/ability in 4 starts on PSF, winning once and always in
the first four. Finished 2nd over 1400m at Deauville on 1 August – making his handicap and turf
debut
7. BRIO – Unplaced (12th) in his only handicap appearance – a 1600m Quinte+ event at
ParisLongchamp on 4 July
8. MCTENETT – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing a respectable 5th in a 1200m Quinte+ handicap
at Deauville on 15 August
9. FOU FURIEUX – Bounced back to form with a reassuring 4th (off this mark) at Deauville in a
1600m handicap on 17 August

Summary: TALENTUOSO (3) showed promise as a 2-year-old but hasn’t exactly fulfilled his
potential However, he finds a great opportunity to redeem himself and could be worth another
chance in this handicap. WAPI (6) confirmed the form/improvement of his winning reappearance
by finishing 2nd in a Class 2 event last time and should fight for victory. Better was expected of
TEN HORNS (1) in a Listed race last time so he shouldn’t be hastily condemned either. RIVER
FALLS (5) appeals most of the remainder.

C14 – PRIX A TEMPO – 2400m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Class 1 Race – Flat – EUR € 38,000

1. BIRR CASTLE – Classy sort with references at the highest level – finished 3rd in the Group II
Prix d’Harcourt in April and 6th in the Group I Prix Ganay later that month. Absent since finishing
6th in a 2000m Longchamp Group III on 9 June
2. ZULU WARRIOR – Consistent performer whose competitiveness at this level is beyond doubt.
Sparked improvement in first-time headgear to finish 3rd over 2400m in a similar contest at
Clairefontaine on 16 August
3. JORDANELLA – Capable, lightly raced mare with sound references at this level. Finished 8th in
a 2000m Group III race at Vichy on 17 July but the drop in class will serve her interests
4. ANTE ALIOS – Unplaced (9th) on his handicap/Quinte+ debut over 1900m on PSF at Deauville
on 18 August. Lightly raced so remains open to improvement
5. THE GOOD MAN – Ultra-consistent veteran stayer whose 3 starts on this course have yielded a
course-and-distance victory and 2 3rd-place finishes. Showed his form and well-being by finishing
3rd over 3000m at Dieppe on 23 July
6. KALEO PALACE – Consistent, versatile veteran handicapper with sound references. Finished
unplaced (8th) in the 2400m Grand Handicap de Chantilly on 2 June
7. KANESHYA – Was probably stretched by 3000m when only 7th in a Listed race at Deauville on
28 July. Not taken lightly back over this trip
8. SNUGGLES – Consistent handicapper with sound references/form credentials in Quinte+ events,
including a last-start 6th at Clairefontaine over 2400m on 24 August

Summary: Classy BIRR CASTLE (1) is ideally engaged under these conditions so is good value
to make a winning reappearance after finishing 6th in a 2000m Group III race when last seen in
June. He concedes chunks of weight to his rivals but his class should prevail. THE GOOD MAN (5)
has the undeniable means to play a leading role and could fight for victory in receipt of 4,5kg with
headgear fitted. Consistent ZULU WARRIOR (2) and capable KANESHYA (7) are competitive for
the places.
