Race 1 No 4 High Rise Power

He has yet to place in nine starts, but showed improvement on his Class 5 debut 67 days ago. In that 1200m AWT race, he was held up from the 300m to the 100m before finishing strongly to claim seventh, beaten by only 2.25 lengths.

With a smoother run, he could have finished much closer. Given this promising performance, he deserves another chance this week.

Race 2 No 2 Joy Coming

He simply had no luck in his first run back down to Class 4 last time out, getting caught three-wide throughout after jumping from an outer alley. Despite the challenging journey, he fought bravely in the straight and finished fourth, beaten by just 2.75 lengths over this track and distance.

Having trialled well for the new season, he looks poised to return to the winner’s circle first-up, as a three-time winner in Class 4.

Sectional Stars

Race 3 No 4 Aurora Lady

He travelled wide just off the speed early in a race run at fast splits last time out, where the first 800m sectional time was 45.70 seconds – the fastest among all the races that night. Despite being disadvantaged by the race shape, he stuck on well to finish third over this track and distance.

Race 4 No 8 Right Honourable

The 1400m trip in his last start was likely too short for this ten-year-old, but he should be well-suited to the 1650m distance this week. Additionally, returning to Happy Valley is a positive, as six of his seven local wins have come at this track.
