Joliestar on a stellar bid at Rosehill

Joliestar

Star mare JOLIESTAR is primed to score a fourth straight win in the $300,000 Group 2 Sheraco Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.

Since her emphatic victory in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas last November, JOLIESTAR has been in outstanding form. The daughter of Zoustar had just one run last preparation, where she stormed home to defeat a strong field in the G2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint at Randwick in April. Now, as a four-year-old, the Chris Waller-trained mare resumed with an impressive first-up win in the G3 Show County last month, where she toyed with her rivals, winning by 2.9 lengths over this distance.

Returning to face her own sex group this week, JOLIESTAR is the early favourite at $1.80, with SUNSHINE IN PARIS next at $4, followed by MAKARENA, who has been well-tried at $6.

Elite three-year-old STORM BOY is set to secure back-to-back victories this Saturday in the Group 2 Run To The Rose over 1200m at Rosehill Gardens, Australia.

With an impressive record of five wins from seven starts, STORM BOY claimed the G2 Skyline Stakes earlier this year and finished third in the G1 Golden Slipper (1200m) and fourth in the G1 Inglis Sires’ (1400m). The Justify colt resumed with a dominant win in the G3 Domenico Stakes two weeks ago, leading from start to finish to win by 2.8 lengths over 1100m.

Given the strength of his recent performance, STORM BOY appears to have significantly improved since turning three, making a double victory this week well within his reach.
