Race 2 No 4 GOLDEN LUCK

You can disregard his last start over 1650m—a distance well beyond his range. Additionally, he set a blistering tempo from an outer gate, so it was no surprise that he weakened in the straight.

He has trialled well for his return, and with the drop in trip, he’s expected to deliver an improved first-up performance.

Race 4 No 4 PARENTS’ LOVE

This week, he benefits from two key factors: his fitness advantage over most rivals who are racing first-up, as he had a run just 10 days ago, and a class drop that appears to work in his favour.

Additionally, he’s delivered a few solid performances at this track in Class 4, so a return to Happy Valley ticks another box.

Race 6 No 3 WINNING STEPS

He was forced to settle off the speed in a slowly run race last time out, before letting down with the fastest final 400m (22.82 seconds) to finish third over 1650m at this track. If this race features a fast pace, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him return with a bang.

Race 7 No 2 POWER KOEPP

He showed improvement in his final run last season, finishing strongly to grab second over this track and distance. As a four-time winner in this class, he’s well positioned to run a big race first-up, especially with his current rating now below his last winning mark.
