Autumn Glow to illuminate a hat-trick

Autumn Glow

Talented three-year-old filly AUTUMN GLOW is set for a hat-trick in the $300,000 Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes over 1400m at Randwick racecourse this Saturday.

Trained by Chris Waller, AUTUMN GLOW made a striking debut in early August, stepping straight into a 3YO BM72 race rather than the usual Maiden, signalling her connections’ strong confidence in her. Despite being the only unraced horse in the field, the daughter of The Autumn Sun delivered an explosive performance, winning comfortably by 2.5 lengths over 1300m.

She followed this debut victory with an effortless win in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes late last month, reinforcing her elite status among the three-year-olds this season. Given her exceptional form, she is poised to be a formidable contender once again this week.

In-form six-year-old gelding GREAT FORTUNE is poised to go back-to-back in the $40,000 Special Conditions Handicap over 1600m at Belmont racecourse this Saturday.

A four-time winner from 24 starts, GREAT FORTUNE regained his best form last time out with a determined victory at Bunbury nine days ago. Despite an awkward draw, the My Admiration gelding raced just off the pace and unleashed a strong finish in the straight, overtaking his rivals stylishly over 1400m.

Given his racing style, the step up in distance should further benefit GREAT FORTUNE this week. With champion jockey William Pike retaining the ride, a second consecutive win appears well within his grasp.
