Race 3 No 1 Boss Phan

He showed little off the speed in a 1400m Class 3 race last week, making it a run that can be disregarded. However, a closer look at his previous performances reveals a noteworthy fourth-place finish at Kranji Stakes A level four starts ago, where he faced much stronger competitors than this week’s field.

Boasting a solid record of two wins and one placing from four starts in Class 4, he could be a value choice dropping back to this class.

Race 5 No 9 Khao Manee

He was gallant in defeat last start, finishing third despite encountering traffic issues in the straight. Between the 400m and 200m marks, he struggled to find clear running room as two horses ahead shifted ground erratically.

It wasn’t until past the 200m that the rider decided to move him wide, and he responded with a strong surge to the line, ultimately missing out by just two lengths.

Race 7 No 8 Master Player

He drew attention with a strong finish, taking fourth place last start over 1000m and clocking the fastest final 400m in 23.68 seconds. Given the slow tempo of the race, his performance was impressive considering the conditions. He deserves another chance this week.

Race 10 No 7 Hasten

He likely settled too close to the pace last time, which led to him finishing one-paced and beaten by 1.25 lengths into fifth. With a more patient ride this week, he should be able to produce a strong finish, as he has shown before, especially in a race with plenty of speed.
