Race 2 No 4 RELIABLE PROFIT

His last-start sixth place was more promising than it appears. He was urged to press forward early but was swamped in the closing stages, finishing just 1.25 lengths behind the winner over this distance at Happy Valley.

Switching to the AWT shouldn’t be an issue, as he finished a close second on this surface four starts ago. This suggests a strong chance for him to break through here.

Race 8 No 7 MASTER MASTERMIND

He put the writing on the wall with a slashing fourth in his first-up run two weeks ago. After being steadied early to settle off the pace, he flashed home late to finish 4.5 lengths behind the winner. Notably, the slow race tempo made his performance even more impressive.

By stepping up from 1200m to 1400m, he is well placed to break through at start number six this week.

Race 5 No 9 RUN RUN COOL

He had no luck in his first-up run two weeks ago, where he was held up from the 200m to the 100m. Despite this, he recorded the third-fastest final 400m and finished ninth, beaten by just 3.75 lengths. With a smoother run, he looks capable of improving into the money second-up.

Race 6 No 10 BEAUTY LIVE

Last start, he covered more ground than most rivals, traveling wide from the 800m. To his credit, he still finished strongly in the straight to claim fifth over this track and distance. If he can find a more economical path this week, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him run a big race first-up.
