Race 4 No 11 JOLLY COMPANION
His last-start eighth-place finish had hidden merit, as he led under a blistering tempo and was expected to weaken in the straight, eventually finishing 4 lengths behind over 1400m. The distance may have also stretched his limits.
The drop back to 1200m better suits his racing style, and with just 119lb on his back, he presents as a strong lightweight chance.
Race 10 No 12 ENDEARED
After jumping from a wide draw last start, he was restrained to settle towards the rear, seeking cover. With the slow early tempo, it proved difficult for those off the pace to make ground. Despite that, he finished seventh over 1200m, only three lengths behind the winner.
From an inside draw this week, if he can settle closer to the speed, he could upset more fancied runners.

Race 1 No 3 SMART LEADER
Based on recent form, this seasoned veteran seems poised for one last win in Class 5 before retirement. He finished strongly in a slow-paced race first-up and, with a solid record at this level, should be highly competitive.
Race 5 No 9 FOOLISH HEART
He has posted some fast final sectional times in his last five starts, and his most recent run is best overlooked, as he returned with a roarer condition. Resuming off an eye-catching trial, he’s worth considering first-up if his odds present value.
