Race 8 No 12 SUPER INFINITY

The rider and trainer were questioned by the stewards for adopting a conservative tactic last time out, despite the horse drawing well. To make matters worse, the slow early pace worked against him, meaning his fourth-place finish was better than it appears on paper.

He scored an impressive first-up win when racing just off the pace, and he could improve into the money if he reverts to his more positive racing style.

Race 10 No 6 NEVER TOO SOON

Last start, he was steadied early from a wide to settle off the speed before being held up from the 400m to the 300m. Once seeing daylight in the concluding stages, he finished strongly into fifth over this track and distance.

In terms of ratings, he’s now on par with his last winning mark, so a Top 3 finish wouldn’t be surprising, provided he has better luck in running.

Race 2 No 10 HARMONY N HOME

Though his winning streak came to an end last start, he finished strongly for fourth in a slowly run race, missing out by only a neck over 1400m. Often underrated as an eight-year-old, he’s worth considering if his odds offer value.

Race 3 No 7 PEARL OF PANG’S

His sixth-place finish last start was better than it appears, racing on the speed under a blistering tempo, yet only beaten 2.5 lengths over 1200m. In a race lacking frontrunners this week, he could cause an upset with a better-timed ride up front.
