France Form Sheet – 25 October
Race Preview
RACE 1: DE LA CROIX FERRET MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) – 2200M – TIME: 19:05 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000
Summary: JANNAH PEARL (4), runner-up in 2 of 3 appearances, has already shown her aptitude/efficiency on heavy ground and she is ideally placed to open her account. WALKABOVE (5), whose last-start 3rd at Saint-Cloud was encouraging, is the biggest threat to the selection, though supplemented newcomer GANAVA (7) shouldn’t be underestimated, given her pedigree to excel on deep/heavy ground. KOWALSKI (1) completes the shortlist.
SELECTIONS
JANNAH PEARL (4) – WALKABOVE (5) – GANAVA (7) – KOWALSKI (1)
RACE 2: DE L’HIPPODROME FLEURI MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) – 1400M – TIME: 19:40 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000
Summary: SIYOUNI FLASH (4) caught the eye when finishing 2nd on her belated debut at Chantilly over 1600m and needn’t improve a great deal to go one better with that experience to count on. SALVA MEA (2) has flattered to deceive but boasts the form and experience to pose a threat. MISS OXFORD (3) made an encouraging start on French soil and, with any improvement, should play a leading role in a field of this ilk. Consistent OASINA (5) is another with legitimate podium aspirations.
SELECTIONS
SIYOUNI FLASH (4) – SALVA MEA (2) – MISS OXFORD (3) – OASINA (5)
RACE 3: CHARLIE ELLIOTT CLAIMING STAKES (TURF TRACK) – 1400M – TIME: 20:15 PRIZE MONEY: EUR23000
Summary: MOUNT VERNON (3) returned to winning in a similar contest at Saint-Cloud last month and is good value to follow up here at the expense of ATLANTIC WAYS (6) who has proven herself in handicaps and ought to fare better at this lower level. SHOWPOWER (2), after a reassuring 2nd at Toulouse in first-time headgear (retained here) and LA BELLE POETE (4) appeal most of the remainder.
SELECTIONS
MOUNT VERNON (3) – ATLANTIC WAYS (6) – SHOWPOWER (2) – LA BELLE POETE (4)
RACE 4: DES BALSAMINES CLAIMING HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) – 1400M – TIME: 20:50 PRIZE MONEY: EUR19000
Summary: CREW DRAGON (1) has enjoyed a fruitful campaign and should continue that momentum, having already proven himself on deep/heavy and over this distance. NOLITO (2), returned to the handicaps with legitimate ambitions, is best equipped to challenge the selection for race honours. KILFRUSH MEMORIES (4), with Maxime Guyon aboard, shouldn’t be taken lightly on his reappearance. LOVELY ANGEL (3) appeals most of the remainder.
SELECTIONS
CREW DRAGON (1) – NOLITO (2) – KILFRUSH MEMORIES (4) – LOVELY ANGEL (3)
RACE 5: DE LA MARE A TOUQUES MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) – 1800M – TIME: 21:25 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000
Summary: SOME SKYE (2) sets the standard and has already proven herself on deep/heavy ground. She ought to take advantage of this drop in class by belatedly opening her account in these calmer waters. WINDBURN (5) has the form and experience to pose a threat, while LORIA (6) would’ve gained plenty from her pleasing introduction and she should improve to make her presence felt too. Newcomer SAVE THE SEA (8) isn’t taken lightly.
SELECTIONS
SOME SKYE (2) – WINDBURN (5) – LORIA (6) – SAVE THE SEA (8)
RACE 6: DU BOTTEY HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) – 2900M – TIME: 22:00 PRIZE MONEY: EUR18000
Summary: SUDDEN DEATH (12) finished an eye-catching 3rd on his return from a lengthy layoff at Le Mans a fortnight ago and won’t need to improve a great deal, with superior fitness on his side, to get the better of AMANTA COVE (5) whose candidacy for success isn’t in question, especially with Florent Guy engaged. Last-start winner CLICCLIC PANPANPAN (4) and consistent MER BLACK (9) are also competitive for the podium positions.
SELECTIONS
SUDDEN DEATH (12) – AMANTA COVE (5) – CLICCLIC PANPANPAN (4) – MER NOIR (9)
RACE 7: DE FLEURIGNY HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) – 1800M – TIME: 22:35 PRIZE MONEY: EUR21000
Summary: ACHKI (2) acquitted himself well in defeat last time but will be an entirely different proposition on ground he appreciates. As such, he is taken to avenge that recent defeat to last-start conqueror OCTOBER CHOPE (5), with BELLA CIAO (12) likely to play a leading role too off an attractive (lower) handicap mark. HYGROVE BEC (3), a winner at Le Mans recently, also has legitimate aspirations with the shortlist completed by PRINCESS LAURA (9).
SELECTIONS
ACHKI (2) – OCTOBER CHOPE (5) – BELLA CIAO (12) – HYGROVE BEC (3)
