France Form Sheet – 31 October
Race Preview
RACE 1: DES SALVIAS MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LYON-PARILLY RACE 1) – 2000M – TIME: 18:20 PRIZE MONEY: EUR23000
Summary: BIG DREAM CEN (8) looks good on paper, he is out of a smart mare who won a
Listed race and was placed in Group 3 races. He is preferred to SHAMSAT (2) who showed
some talent on his debut at Chantilly at the end of September. He will improve from that effort.
BIBE MUS (1) is also worth considering after a fourth-placed effort on debut at this track earlier
this month. POET ORTEN (7) makes up the shortlist.
SELECTIONS
BIG DREAM CEN (8) – SHAMSAT (2) – BIBE MUS (1) – POET ORTEN (7)
RACE 2: DES AZALEES MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LYON-PARILLY RACE 2) – 2000M – TIME: 18:51 PRIZE MONEY: EUR23000
Summary: ROSA GALLICA (2) has shown enough on both of her runs to take this maiden event.
She was a decent fourth last time in an above-average maiden at Chantilly on the PSF and will
be more at home back on turf. TAVARUA (3) is a danger, she was a close-up sixth on her only
start at Le Mans and will be shaper for that outing. SEONA (5) has shown a nice level of ability in
two runs and can make the frame. FLAMME ROUGE (6) is also worth a mention.
SELECTIONS
ROSA GALLICA (2) – TAVARUA (3) – SEONA (5) – FLAMME ROUGE (6)
RACE 3: SAREPTA STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LYON-PARILLY RACE 3) – 1600M – TIME: 19:23 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000
Summary: MEMPHIS TENNESSEE (2) was a good second two starts ago in a Class 1 race at
this track and can be another winner for Maxime Guyon. His main threat could be MICHIGAN
FIRE (3) who has been absent since a return run of the year at Chantilly in a Listed event in
March. He is talented and if fit, he can be competitive. ACOTANGO (4) ran well when second last
time in a Class 2 race and merits consideration. KOVEL (6) heads the remainder.
SELECTIONS
MEMPHIS TENNESSEE (2) – MICHIGAN FIRE (3) – ACOTANGO (4) – KOVEL (6)
RACE 4: JEAN-NOEL GABOLDE HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM LYON-PARILLY RACE 4) – 1600M – TIME: 19:55 PRIZE MONEY: EUR20000
Summary: ST ELVIRA (1) has been highly tried since her win in a maiden back in June and will
be more at home in calmer waters this time. She can score from ALYAQUT (3) who is an honest
performer and finds it hard to run a bad race. POETIC DAWN (2) is one for the each-way backers
to take seriously. She has more improvement in her. TWILIGHT (5) also warrants respect and will
be full of confidence after a win at Le Mans on her latest outing a couple of weeks ago.
SELECTIONS
ST ELVIRA (1) – ALYAQUT (3) – POETIC DAWN (2) – TWILIGHT (5)
RACE 5: PIERRE RIVIERE D’ARC HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM TOULOUSE RACE 4) – 1200M – TIME: 00:45 PRIZE MONEY: EUR20000
Summary: Probably the most open race on this card. SUN PROJECT (6) has yet to win a race
but was a good third last time out and could win first time in a handicap. SPRING BEAUTY (8)
has improved of late and can fight out the finish again. IT’S CHICO TIME (1) is very consistent
and has course and distance form. He can go one better this time. MRS HOLIDAY (3) is distance
suited and can also get involved with the finish.
SELECTIONS
SUN PROJECT (6) – SPRING BEAUTY (8) – IT’S CHICO TIME (1) – MRS HOLIDAY (3)
