Race 3 No 9 MONARCH COUNTY

This expensive son of Per Incanto attracted considerable betting support on his debut three weeks ago; however, a wide trip from the 700m significantly hindered his chances of winning. Nevertheless, he finished strongly to claim seventh place, just 2.5 lengths behind the winner.

Gaining fitness in his second start, he is open to further improvement and looks like one to watch in a field that lacks depth.

Race 10 No 8 SILO

Formerly racing in Singapore, he has shown steady improvement since relocating to Hong Kong earlier this year. He led for much of the journey to finish fourth two starts ago, then came from behind to check into fourth again last time out, demonstrating his versatility.

With a decent draw this week, he should be a strong contender in this wide-open field, provided he handles the rise to 1600m.

Race 8 No 14 FIGHT TIME

He was unlucky not to win his last start, where he was held up from the 400m to the 250m before flashing home late into second, finishing only 1.25 lengths behind the winner. With better luck in running, he looks poised to make amends this week.

Race 7 No 7 SUNLIGHT POWER

This five-year-old was held up for the final 150m in a slowly run race last time, resulting in a luckless third-place finish. Despite this, he still clocked the third-fastest final 400m in 22.77 seconds. An exciting race is in store, with him set to clash against PACKING HERMOD, RUBYLOT, and GREEN N WHITE.
