Former Macau trainer, Ricky Choi Chun Wai will saddle up his first team of runners since making the move to Malaysia earlier this year and will be represented by seven candidates at the Selangor Turf Club meeting this Sunday.

Choi’s stable runners have been well prepared with several trials under their belt they will enter their respective events under match fit conditions.

The first representative will be LUCKY TO WIN engaged in Race 2 and is coming off a couple of useful trials, including an impressive trial win back on October 22. The 7yo was placed at his final two runs in Macau over 1500m back in March, starting favourite on each occasion.

LUEN ON FEELINGS may be searching for a longer trip first up in Race 3 but gains a big weight advantage with 53kg. Posting a record of 3 wins from 12 starts in Macau, the 4yo won twice in March prior to spelling and may be the testing material against smart 3yo YES MAN, which is likely to around as race favourite in the Class 4 contest.

WHO LOVE TO DANCE strikes a competitive Metro A (Race 4) against the likes of inform galloper GULF EAGLE plus group winners, BERRY BLISS and GOOD FIGHT. The 7yo hasn’t been extended in his two trials and may need the run first up.

ORIENTAL HALFLAMMA looks a nice horse in the making after striking career best form earlier this year with four wins a row and might be the one to beat in Race 6. The 5yo Super One gelding sustained a quick turn of speed when leading throughout to win his trial by five lengths on October 15. Former Australian galloper, CINNAMON BLAZE, now trained by Charles Leck, could provide some opposition however following his 4.5 length trial win Tuesday week ago and is capable of breaking the maiden tag in the Class 4 contest.

BROTHER LIAN’AN strikes a competitive Class 3 field in Race 7 and may find it a tough assignment first up with the 58.5kg. However, it does appears to be an even lineup and a forward showing would not surprise.

HANDSOME JOYFUL and WEALTHYNESS are the Irace selections in Races 8 and 9 respectively with both horses coming off impressive trial performances recently.

Gulf Eagle

GULF EAGLE (5) has been one of the more progressive performers in the country this year as he faces his stiffest assignment in the 1400m Metro A contest (Race 4). With four wins from six starts, the highly touted 5yo will be pitted against group one winners, BERRY BLISS (1) and GOOD FIGHT (3). GULF EAGLE (3) treated his Class 3 rivals with contempt last start and looks well placed with the 54kg for jockey CK Khaw who has won three from three aboard the gelding. BERRY BLISS (1) benefits a great deal with the 4kg claim for apprentice, S Bahauddin and can bounce back despite his failure in the G1 Coronation Cup a fortnight ago. GOOD FIGHT (3) is back in form and his last start 2nd in the G1 CC Cup keeps him under notice while veteran 9yo, VIOLET (2) trialed strongly on Tuesday and looks primed third up this preparation.
