Nine-year-old galloper SAYONARA is on track for consecutive victories as he lines up in the 1275m Class 5A contest at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
SAYONARA has had two starts in the country, including his local debut on October 13, where he resumed from a three-month break as the RM 7 favourite. The Sharee Hamilton- trained gelding closed from midfield to finish runner-up behind Golden Eighteen, beaten by four lengths. He quickly bounced back in Penang two weeks ago, delivering a dominant eight-length victory in soft going over 1300m.
With the 3kg apprentice claim for Tuan Ammar, SAYONARA looks a tough competitor once again this Sunday.
Former Singapore galloper WEDNESDAY looks a value choice in the opening event of the day. His form has dipped in recent starts at Kranji, but thanks to the shared ratings system between Singapore and Malaysia, he appears set to face a weaker field as he begins his Malaysia racing career in Class 5B.
With tactical speed, he has the potential to cause an upset if granted a soft lead against some of the more fancied rivals.
