Race 4 No 5 OFFROAD MASTER

Overlooked in the market, he nonetheless delivered a solid debut performance, finishing a commendable fourth. Stalking the leader throughout, he fought on gamely to miss by only 2.25 lengths over 1200m on turf. The fast tempo further underscored the merit of his effort.

Given his racing style, the switch to the All-Weather Track should suit him well, and further improvement is anticipated.

Race 7 No 8 PATCH OF THETA

He had no luck in his last race, run at a blistering pace, where he raced three-wide just off the speed throughout, covering significant extra ground. Despite this setback, he still managed to finish third over this track and distance, while the winner and runner-up enjoyed far smoother trips.

Starting his career in Class 4 and now competing in Class 2, he has hit the frame in all 12 starts. With his consistency and a bit more luck in running, a win could be within reach soon.

Race 1 No 7 CHILLI BABA

Freshened up since his commendable third-place finish 54 days ago, he ran on strongly off a slow tempo, recording the second-fastest final 400m in 22.12 seconds. With the step up in distance, he’s expected to settle closer to the pace and should be highly competitive in Class 5.

Race 8 No 11 FIRST LOVE

His last-start eighth-place finish had hidden merit, as he was forced to settle off the pace from a wide draw before charging home late. The slow tempo further hindered his winning chances. With a genuine pace expected this week, he should be able to unleash his late surge and make his presence felt.
