Race Preview

RACE 1: DE BILHERES STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 2) – 1600M – TIME: 19:31 PRIZE MONEY: EUR27000

Summary: KIRCHNER (3) quickened in the manner of a smart sort when scoring on debut at
Chantilly and that experience would’ve done him the world of good. With improvement expected
on his reappearance, he is good value to keep his 100% record intact with class-dropper LIXTA
(1) and consistent BIN ZARAK (4) likely to pose the biggest threats to his unbeaten status. The
selection’s stable companion RETIRO (2) completes the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
KIRCHNER (3) – LIXTA (1) – BIN ZARAK (4) – RETIRO (2)

RACE 2: DU BOULEVARD DES PYRENEES STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 3) – 1400M – TIME: 20:05 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000

Summary: Sparingly raced NATIONAL SERVICE (2) and ultra-consistent WALLY (4) return from
respective absences but have proven to run well fresh after a break. They could find themselves
fighting for victory on their reappearances, with experienced WE RIDE THE WORLD (1) and welltraveled NOISY NIGHT (3) best equipped to expose any chinks in the armour of the
aforementioned pair. LE SAGE (5) comes next.

SELECTIONS
NATIONAL SERVICE (2) – WALLY (4) – WE RIDE THE WORLD (1) – NOISY NIGHT (3)

RACE 3: D’ORTHEZ STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 4) – 1600M – TIME: 20:40 PRIZE MONEY: EUR23000

Summary: Jean-Claude Rouget saddles a formidable 5-pronged attack in this event for unraced
2-year-olds, among them well-bred filly BEAUTIFUL MESS (13) who appeals most with JeanBernard Eyquem booked to ride. However, stablemates SHANCEL (7) and ORLY (1) are also
attractively bred newcomers so they aren’t underestimated. EPONINE (11), the first foal of a wellperformed mare, Didier Guillemin-trained LE TIRAILLEUR (5), and supplemented CHARENGO
(2) are others not to be taken lightly.

SELECTIONS
BEAUTIFUL MESS (13) – EPONINE (11) – SHANCEL (7) – LE TIRAILLEUR (5)

RACE 4: DE MONT-DE-MARSAN HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 5) – 2400M – TIME: 21:15 PRIZE MONEY: EUR20000

Summary: A very weak race. PRETTY STORM (3) is capable of winning a race like this but does
try the PSF for the first time. LADY OF NABEUL (11) was not disgraced last time out and has
been better in claimers but is not out of it. JUBBAH (7) likes this track and would not be a surprise
winner. GOLDEN STATE (1) steps up in distance but does like this course and has a winning
chance.

SELECTIONS
PRETTY STORM (3) – LADY OF NABEUL (11) – JUBBAH (7) – GOLDEN STATE (1)

RACE 5: DE BIZANOS HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 6) – 2400M – TIME: 21:50 PRIZE MONEY: EUR14000

Summary: PEYRASSOL (4) has yet to win a race and is unproven on this surface but is also
quite capable of winning a weak race like this. ATHELIA (7) is capable of better than the recent
runs suggests and could be a lively danger if in the right mood. ARMORIGENE (6) is also
capable of getting involved with the finish. PARABAK (1) is not easy to trust but is also not out of
it.

SELECTIONS
PEYRASSOL (4) – ATHELIA (7) – ARMORIGENE (6) – PARABAK (1)

RACE 6: DE LIMENDOUS HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 7) – 2400M – TIME: 22:25 PRIZE MONEY: EUR16000

Summary: PEDROZIO (15) has been very good of late winning twice. He carries a penalty for
the latest win and still has to prove himself on this surface but gets the vote to score. CAVANI
KAIZEN (7) is unreliable but does like the PSF and can contest the finish. ELIOTT CHOP (3) has
been very consistent of late so should be very competitive again. THE MAGIC MAN (1) was in
good form before a disappointing last run and can also make the frame.

SELECTIONS
PEDROZIO (15) – CAVANI KAIZEN (7) – ELIOTT CHOP (3) – ASSIER (9)

RACE 7: DE VOLTAIRE HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 1) – 2500M – TIME: 22:40 PRIZE MONEY: EUR40000

Summary: An interesting handicap. QUE BELLA (1) has the form to win a race like this but tries
the PSF for the first time. DEMPY (4) is always competitive and can fight out the finish once
again. MOOR MALPIC (2) has been a disappointment of late but switched to the PSF and she
might like this surface. RAIMONDIN (5) is in good form and ran well over further last time out.

SELECTIONS
QUE BELLA (1) – DEMPY (4) – MOOR MALPIC (2) – RAIMONDIN (5)

RACE 8: DE BARZUN HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 8) – 2400M – TIME: 23:00 PRIZE MONEY: EUR20000

Summary: MEXICAN DREAM (3) has been holding her form well and gets a narrow nod to take
out this lucky last race. TASHAAR (11) clearly likes this course so it is worth ignoring the recent
runs and he will be a danger. PHILIPPO (2) is unreliable but does have a winning chance.
GLORIETTE SAN (5) seems better than some modest recent runs and could make the frame this
time.

SELECTIONS
MEXICAN DREAM (3) – TASHAAR (11) – PHILIPPO (2) – GLORIETTE SAN (5)

RACE 9: DE LA POMMERAIE STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 2) – 1500M – TIME: 23:18 PRIZE MONEY: EUR30000

Summary: MONDO BOY (7) is a full brother to Mondo Man and he certainly catches the eye on
breeding for his debut. SAHLAN (2) is bred for this surface and should be a threat. So for that
matter is ZODD (9). SPANISH BREEZE CEN (14) is from a young sire that is doing very well so
should also be considered a possible winner. Keep an eye on the betting.

SELECTIONS
MONDO BOY (7) – SAHLAN (2) – ZODD (9) – SPANISH BREEZE CEN (14)

RACE 10: DE LA CERISAIE MAIDEN STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 3) – 1500M – TIME: 23:53 PRIZE MONEY: EUR30000

Summary: CARAT (6) is a nice filly by Frankel and with Mickaël Barzalona in the saddle she
should be ready to score on debut. MISS CHASTAIN (4) is by a sire, Wootton Bassett whose
progeny tend to like the PSF. WINTER MIST (12) is well bred and would not be a surprise winner.
GINEBRA (7) is another that catches the eye and deserves some consideration.

SELECTIONS
CARAT (6) – MISS CHASTAIN (4) – WINTER MIST (12) – GINEBRA (7)

RACE 11: D’ENGERVILLE HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 4) – 1900M – TIME: 00:28 PRIZE MONEY: EUR25000

Summary: GATTOPARDO (5) won well last time out to suggest he could follow up on handicap
debut. CASARES (6) ran well at Chantilly last time out and should fight out the finish again.
SCORCH (14) is improving and will not go down without a fight for top honours. HONEY
BADGER (16) likes this course and also has a winning chance in a competitive handicap.

SELECTIONS
GATTOPARDO (5) – CASARES (6) – SCORCH (14) – HONEY BADGER (16)

RACE 12: DU BERGERET HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 5) – 1900M – TIME: 01:03 PRIZE MONEY: EUR21000

Summary: Trainer Stéphane Wattel has a strong hand in this contest. TENDER THOUGHTS
(13) has been very consistent on the fibersand of late and looks the pick of the field. TAMYZ (5)
was narrowly headed over the track & trip on 2 November and could easily go one better. ROLL
WITH IT (9) has a nice turn of foot and will enjoy the rise in trip. Player. LERFAL (2) just showed
at Lyon-La-Soie that she is on a very workable mark.

SELECTIONS
TENDER THOUGHTS (13) – TAMYZ (5) – ROLL WITH IT (9) – LERFAL (2)

RACE 13: DE MONTFORT MAIDEN STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 6) – 1900M – TIME: 01:40 PRIZE MONEY: EUR30000

Summary: A half-brother to Blush, who recently finished 4th in a Group 1 in Australia,
PACIFISTE (12) is an interesting newcomer and is worth a good look in the market. The betting
trend will also tell a lot about TALAKAN (11), a son of Arc winner Golden Horn. STOLEN KISS (1)
wasn’t beaten far on debut at Marseille-Borély and has the benefit of this experience. TEN PLUS
ONE CEN (10) can be given another chance over this longer trip after a disappointing first run.

SELECTIONS
PACIFISTE (12) – TALAKAN (11) – STOLEN KISS (1) – TEN PLUS ONE CEN (10)

RACE 14: D’ANGEVILLE HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 7) – 1900M – TIME: 02:15 PRIZE MONEY: EUR19000

Summary: A very cosy winner of a Condition race last time out, MONTE SANCHA (2) looks a
solid proposition back in the Handicap division. She will take all the beating but it may be safer to
keep a close eye on PARIOLO (1) who posted a very promising first run on the fibersand last time
out. FEE DU VIVIEN (7) is still looking for that elusive first career win but she is in fine form and
warrants the utmost respect. SANTO (6) is another one that can be on the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
MONTE SANCHA (2) – PARIOLO (1) – FEE DU VIVIEN (7) – SANTO (6)
