Race 5 No 11 SEA SAPPHIRE

It’s worth overlooking his unplaced effort first-up, where he adopted a conservative tactic and showed little off the pace. Previously, he was competitive in Class 4 with a frontrunning style, which likely suits him best.

Now stripping fitter second-up, he could be a value choice if he reverts to his positive racing style.

Race 7 No 5 FORERUNNER

He failed to make an impact in a race dominated by those settling on pace last time out. Prior to that, he had been in consistent form, finishing second in three of his previous four races.

Resuming from a 70-day break, he travelled strongly in a recent quiet trial and looks one to watch first-up.

Race 4 No 2 ENDEARED

He has struggled with poor barrier draws in his recent starts, forcing him to settle off the pace. Despite this, he has been competitive in each of these races, including a fast-finishing third over this distance last time out. With a more favourable run this week, he looks primed to make amends.

Race 6 No 6 MR ENERGIA

He has finished no more than 1.5 lengths behind the winner in each of his last three starts and comes off a fast-finishing fourth over this distance on turf. With a return to the All-Weather surface, where he registered his sole career win, he has a significant advantage and looks set to be a strong contender.
