Once again a number of newcomers will be making their Malaysian debuts on the ten-race card at Selangor Turf Club this Sunday, including two former Macau gallopers which are set to line up in the 1400m Class 3 contest (Race 7).
PLATINUM ROYALE (3) and PLATINUM UNIVERSAL (4), from the stables of Ricky Choi, haven’t raced since March last year but both candidates looked sharp at the January 7 trial session and are previous first up winners. They will be contesting against some competitive types including PACIFIC PADRINO (2) which is primed to strike following three runs in the country. Yet to miss a place since crossing the causeway, the 5yo was nailed on the post after looking the winner over 1500m last start and can easily atone come Sunday.
It looked as though INFINITY WARRIOR (9) may have trained off since winning two in a row back in October. However, the 5yo was returned to form finishing 4th after leading in the same race contested by PACIFIC PADRINO (2) on January 12. WECANDO (5) has descended in the ratings and is capable of winning on best form while DAYLIGHT (8) has been freshened since taking out the 1300m Listed Penang Xmas Stakes on December 22.

The 5yo caught the eye when flashing home to finish runner up over 1020m a fortnight ago and looks well suited on the distance rise. MR MONDELLO (8) is still a maiden and connections have elected to once again take on the Class 4 graders. The 5yo remains competitive at this level and is sure to break through soon. MICHIKAWA (7) can be hard to follow but is also best suited stepping up to the 1400m trip and is one to include in trifecta.
