RACE 1: D’ABERE MAIDEN STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 1) – 1600M – TIME: 18:48 PRIZE MONEY: EUR21000
Summary: GOLDEN BROWN (3) has hinted at ability last year and looks well entered returning
from a break. He should be able to get off the mark in a race of this nature. FUSEE DE PORCHE
(1) ran a good race in a handicap last time out over the course & distance and is a live threat.
PIANISSIMO (5) and GARRIS (6) were not disgraced on debut over this track & trip and can feature
with improvement likely.
SELECTIONS
GOLDEN BROWN (3) – FUSEE DE PORCHE (1) – PIANISSIMO (5) – GARRIS (6)
RACE 2: D’ESPELETTE MAIDEN STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM PAU RACE 4) – 1600M – TIME: 20:25 PRIZE MONEY: EUR21000
Summary: A close second two starts ago at Bordeaux, RUE ROY (2) ran with credit at the venue
last time out in a better class of event. In similar form she can score this time around. AMBRA
ANTICA (4) comes in this race on the back of an excellent runner-up effort at Chantilly and has
every chance if she can repeat this feat. DIAMANTINE (3) showed ability last year but has it all to
prove this distance. MISS ALWAYS (6) is on the upgrade and cannot be excluded of the equation.
SELECTIONS
RUE ROY (2) – AMBRA ANTICA (4) – DIAMANTINE (3) – MISS ALWAYS (6)
RACE 3: DE LA COUR ORIOT HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 1) – 1300M – TIME: 23:20 PRIZE MONEY: EUR25000
Summary: A wide-open 3-year-old handicap to begin proceedings. MELLOW YELLOW (10),
runner-up here over 1500m a fortnight ago, gets the vote to go one better if not troubled by this
shorter distance. CENDRE (1), in his first start at this level with Maxime Guyon in the irons, and
YELLOW HAWK (9) are also genuine candidates for victory. LARMES D’OR (14), MONARCH
HUNZA (4) and LOVELY DREAM (6) complete the shortlist.
SELECTIONS
MELLOW YELLOW (10) – CENDRE (1) – YELLOW HAWK (9) – LARMES D’OR (14)
RACE 4: DU CAP DE LA HAGUE HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 2) – 1300M – TIME: 23:56 PRIZE MONEY: EUR23000
Summary: Another trappy handicap, this time for 4-year-olds. NURTURE (14) wouldn’t be winning
out of turn and deserves to be rewarded for her consistency. She gets the nod ahead of returning
SPEZIAL (1) and last-start course-and-distance SNOW GHOST (11), who ought to remain
competitive for the leading positions, despite a 2kg penalty. MRS HOLIDAY (6), on her PSF debut,
and recent runner-up here HAPPY AGAIN (13) also deserve a mention.
SELECTIONS
NURTURE (14) – SPEZIAL (1) – SNOW GHOST (11) – MRS HOLIDAY (6)
RACE 5: DU CAP DE LA HEVE HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 3) – 1300M – TIME: 00:30 PRIZE MONEY: EUR21000
Summary: BAILEYS ILLUSION (4) will shed her maiden tag sooner rather than later and she may
finally be rewarded for consistency here at the expense of improving COSTARMORICAIN (9) and
last-start winner FIRE REBEL (12), who has regained freshness and remains competitive ion his
reappearance, even under a 2kg penalty. BAILEYS VITESSE (10) and BAILEYS BACHELOR (11)
appeal most of the remainder.
SELECTIONS
BAILEYS ILLUSION (4) – COSTARMORICAIN (9) – FIRE REBEL (12) – BAILEYS VITESSE
(10)
RACE 6: DE BALME MAIDEN STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 4) – 1500M – TIME: 01:05 PRIZE MONEY: EUR18000
Summary: Better was expected of BRAVO PAPA (3) on his debut last year but it could pay to side
with him on his reappearance in what is a winnable race in his first start on this surface. PIEMONT
(4) was only touched off in the key references race earlier this month, so he needs only to repeat
the performance to fight for victory. ICE CLIMBER (5) and FAMILY SILVER (12) could improve to
make life difficult for the principals, while KINEMATICA (10) and L’ARDECHOISE (7) are others
with legitimate podium aspirations.
SELECTIONS
BRAVO PAPA (3) – PIEMONT (4) – ICE CLIMBER (5) – FAMILY SILVER (12)
RACE 7: DES DOCKS VAUBAN HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 5) – 3400M – TIME: 01:40 PRIZE MONEY: EUR30000
Summary: BLACK HAWK (1) defied the handicaper in his last two runs and could just do that again
despite the harsh penalty for his last success. NASDAQ (2) is also very effective over the track &
trip and should not be too far off the action. LOR BLANC (3) has been holding form well and ships
a long way for this race so he must be closely monitored. ACT OF WISDOM (4)’s last run is too
bad to be true and he is best judged on his previous outings.
SELECTIONS
BLACK HAWK (1) – NASDAQ (2) – LOR BLANC (3) – ACT OF WISDOM (4)
RACE 8: DE LA VILLA MARITIME HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 6) – 3400M – TIME: 02:15 PRIZE MONEY: EUR23000
Summary: RED JOY (3) was a game second in a competitive handicap last time out at this track
and seems to face a slightly easier task today. This could see her resume winning ways. A winner
of her sole run over the track & trip, PRINCESS ANNE (2) posted a very promising effort last time
out and is worth some serious consideration. GREASE (1) is as consistent as they come and can
make a big splash on his first run at this course. FRENCH DIVA (6) boasts a sound record over the
course & distance and is another one making up the shortlist.
