Race 1 No 5 STERLING WONGCHOY

He showed significant improvement at his second start in Class 5 last time out, settling just off the speed and sticking on bravely to finish a close second over this track and distance. The fast tempo only added to the strength of his performance.

With a moderate lineup and most of his rivals out of form, he looks poised to break through

Race 8 No 11 MY WISH

The shift to more conservative tactics after stepping up to a mile didn’t work out as planned last start, ending his winning streak. Prior to that, he displayed excellent early speed and secured back-to-back victories in dominant fashion over 1400m.

With versatility in running and a more tactically sound ride this week, he has the potential to cause an upset in the 4YO feature.

Sectional Stars

Race 2 No 1 PANDA

He likely would have finished in the Top 3 last start had he jumped cleanly, as he made considerable ground in the straight and finished fourth after a tardy start. Simply put, if there are no issues at the beginning this week, he will make his presence felt in a field lacking depth.

Race 9 No 2 SILVERY BREEZE

His recent starts, which featured fast final 400m sectional times from wide draws in slowly run races, suggest that his local debut win at big odds was no fluke. If he can settle closer to the speed from a better draw this week, a second local victory is within reach.
