RACE 1: DES GRANDES ECURIES STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM MACHECOUL RACE 1) – 1650M – TIME: 17:15 PRIZE MONEY: EUR9500

Summary: MR CASSIOPE (5) is a useful horse in this division and seems well entered in this line-up. He gets a tentative vote in this opener ahead of ZEYZOUN (1) who is a fairly consistent performer but has to carry a lot of weight today. BABY GEORGE (7) is also in his league here but has a bit to prove on the testing ground. SURREY NOIR (4) takes a slight rise in trip and is worth a look in.

SELECTIONS
MR CASSIOPE (5) – ZEYZOUN (1) – BABY GEORGE (7) – SURREY NOIR (4)

RACE 2: DU ROND SAINTE-HELENE STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM MACHECOUL RACE 2) – 1650M – TIME: 17:45 PRIZE MONEY: EUR9000

Summary: REDPEARL (3) did not really turn up at Deauville last time and is better than his placing suggests. He is worth another chance back on the turf and can be slightly preferred to LA QUINTA (8), who ran some decent races in this division last season. FALCON SPIRIT (2) was far from disgraced in a claimer at Pornichet last time out and has an each-way chance. YSOIE (7) is possibly more effective on the turf too and can stake a claim.

SELECTIONS
REDPEARL (3) – LA QUINTA (8) – FALCON SPIRIT (2) – YSOIE (7)

RACE 3: ARMAND PAPON STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM MACHECOUL RACE 3) – 2950M – TIME: 18:15 PRIZE MONEY: EUR9500

Summary: GOOD TIME ROLL (4) is not star but she has shown enough thus far to win a race of this nature. She is entrusted to the experienced Fabrice Veron and should not miss this great opportunity to score. ESPERANCE CHAUFOUR (1) ended 2024 on a positive note and looks the main threat to the selection. ALI PACHA (5) and PRECIOUS STAR (8) are two newcomers from a top National Hunt yard who should not be overlooked.

SELECTIONS
GOOD TIME ROLL (4) – ESPERANCE CHAUFOUR (1) – ALI PACHA (5) – PRECIOUS STAR (8)

RACE 4: GILLES DUFOY STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM MACHECOUL RACE 4) – 2950M – TIME: 18:45 PRIZE MONEY: EUR9500

Summary: ORION ROCK (1) stands out in the rating and is entrusted to 2023 Champion apprentice Dorian Provost. He has every chance of resuming winning ways against this modest bunch of opponents. His main rival could be BLUE SWAN (11) who has had a couple of comeback runs after a long break and should be fitter now. ROCK OF YOU (10) is an intriguing candidate back on the flat. JUAN DU LEMO (9) is a smart jump horse but also won on the flat before so is best to keep on the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
ORION ROCK (1) – BLUE SWAN (11) – ROCK OF YOU (10) – JUAN DU LEMO (9)

RACE 5: PRINCE D’AVRIL STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM MACHECOUL RACE 5) – 2950M – TIME: 19:18 PRIZE MONEY: EUR10500

Summary: LINDJIM (2) posted a promising first run at Craon two months ago and comes from a yard that often performs well with the AQPS horses. LUTECIA DE THAIX (3) was also a promising debutant at Durtal mid-December and looks a big player with improvement likely. The well-related newcomer LOMBO SACRE (4) is from a top National Hunt yard and could be one to keep on the radar. LAVIE ENROSE ATHON (7) is a well spoken newcomer that could be worth a look in the betting.

SELECTIONS
LINDJIM (2) – LUTECIA DE THAIX (3) – LOMBO SACRE (4) – LAVIE ENROSE ATHON (7)

RACE 6: DE BRANVILLE CLAIMING STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 1) – 2500M – TIME: 20:58 PRIZE MONEY: EUR19000

Summary: DEVIL IN THE SKY (1) posted a solid runner-up effort in a highly competitive handicap last time out on this surface and a repeat of this performance shall see him go very well once again dropping in a claimer. NACIDO (4) ran well last time at Chantilly and boasts the highest rating in this line-up. He should make his presence felt. ROYAUMONT (2) is well-placed in the weights and must have an each-way chance. FIRSTMAN (6) posted a fair effort at Pau and in similar form should be in the final shake-up.

SELECTIONS
DEVIL IN THE SKY (1) – NACIDO (4) – ROYAUMONT (2) – FIRSTMAN (6)

RACE 7: DE RABODANGES MAIDEN STAKES (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 2) – 2500M – TIME: 21:33 PRIZE MONEY: EUR18000

Summary: HER CHRISTOPHER (6) has been knocking loudly at the door to say the least and gets the vote to get off the mark. LIO DE LA PLATA (10) showed plenty of progress in her second career start and looks a big player as well. FOXTROT ZULU (9) returns from a break but has shown enough last year to think she has a bright chance in a race of this nature. DARBASAN (1) has generally been in good form and is another one with leading claims.

SELECTIONS
HER CHRISTOPHER (6) – LIO DE LA PLATA (10) – FOXTROT ZULU (9) – DARBASAN (1)

RACE 8: DU TREPORT HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 3) – 1400M – TIME: 22:15 PRIZE MONEY: EUR53000

Summary: SEE THE DREAM (4) showed promise early in her career. This is more her distance and she could be of some value in a very competitive handicap. BLUE MOVES (10) proved just in need of her last run and can do a lot better this time. EVERSTAR (7) has done well at this track and can contest the finish yet again. MURCIANO (16) likes the artificial surface and is another to consider. MALINOVKA (12) posted a fine run on her first attempt in this league last time out and could go close once again.

SELECTIONS
SEE THE DREAM (4) – BLUE MOVES (10) – EVERSTAR (7) – MURCIANO (16)

RACE 9: DU CENT CALAMEL HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 4) – 1400M – TIME: 22:50 PRIZE MONEY: EUR18000

Summary: GRAND LIBYA (8) has yet to taste success after 21 starts but is very close to it and would not be a surprise winner. STANTO (16) is holding form and knocking for another victory. SHAMASUN (12) is also in good shape and will not go down without a fight for top honours. MICOLEO (6) ran well at this track last time out and is capable of making the frame. ZAAHIR (1) was a bit unlucky in his last run and should have finished much closer.

SELECTIONS
GRAND LIBYA (8) – STANTO (16) – SHAMASUN (12) – MICOLEO (6)

RACE 10: DU KHAL-BURG HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 5) – 1400M – TIME: 23:25 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000

Summary: LAURA TREZY (7) wasn’t winning out of turn when quickening well in the latter stages to score at Chantilly last month and a resultant 2kg penalty may not be enough to prevent her from following up. IRISHKAMAYA (6) deserves a reward for her consistency and few (if any) would begrudge her victory after 6 runner-up finishes in her last 7 starts. Both ADWAN (5) and KELLY KEY (3) are competitive off their current marks so shouldn’t be underestimated.

SELECTIONS
LAURA TREZY (7) – IRISHKAMAYA (6) – ADWAN (5) – KELLY KEY (3)

RACE 11: DU FUNICULAIRE HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 6) – 1400M – TIME: 00:00 PRIZE MONEY: EUR27000

Summary: Consistent LE ROCKEUR (4) finished behind last-start winner COSMO BEAU (8) on this track last month but should avenge that defeat on 2,5kg better terms. ABELARD F (1) caught the eye when finishing 3rd in a course-and-distance event at this level last time and will be competitive with a repeat of that performance, which also applies to CALYPSO (7) who was 2nd over track and trip when last seen. DROIT DE PAROLE (10) appeals most of the remainder.

SELECTIONS
LE ROCKEUR (4) – COSMO BEAU (8) – ABELARD F (1) – CALYPSO (7)

RACE 12: DE LA VEULES HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 7) – 1900M – TIME: 00:35 PRIZE MONEY: EUR15000

Summary: YOUM IN LOVE (12) comes in this race on the back of two good efforts and he should cope with this extended trip. He is the pick ahead of PENNY DE CERISY (10) who will have some work to do from stall 16. OSER (11) was an eye-catcher last time at Chantilly three weeks ago and will be competitive if repeating that effort. Long-time maiden ROHIRRIM LASS (2) is very competitive off her current mark so is also shortlist material.

SELECTIONS
YOUM IN LOVE (12) – PENNY DE CERISY (10) – OSER (11) – ROHIRRIM LASS (2)

RACE 13: DE VEULES-LES-ROSES HANDICAP (FIBRESAND TRACK) (FROM DEAUVILLE RACE 8) – 1900M – TIME: 01:10 PRIZE MONEY: EUR18000

Summary: WALLEM (1) did not go unnoticed when 4th in a competitive event last time out and, if in similar form, looks the one they all have to beat. ZWIALH (7) sparked signs of a resurgence in her latest outing so should be given some consideration for the podium positions. AHATIS (4) always gives everything he has and his last effort augurs well for his chances in a race of this ilk. LIDISBARN (9) is better judged on his penultimate start and, on that performance, is competitive for the podium.

SELECTIONS
WALLEM (1) – ZWIALH (7) – AHATIS (4) – LIDISBARN (9)
