Platinum Racing Stables Off The Mark

It wasn’t too long ago when the announcement was made that the Platinum Racing Stables will have their first runners stepping out marking a new dawn in ownership in Malaysia as they are the first ownership syndication in Malaysia. Fast forward a few weeks later and not only do they have their first winner, but also celebrated a feature win on the same day!

With 9 horses in the syndication, it was Platinum Glory who opened up the account for them in race 3 with a comfortable victory of over 4 lengths. He’s only had the one previous run in Malaysia when he finished fourth behind Ong Mari on his local debut by 1,5 lengths. This time around, he went start to finish up in front under B Queiroz and won easing up at the line. Certainly an exciting horse to follow over distance.

With the result of Platinum Glory winning, it wasn’t too much of a surprise for punters as he was rather short in the market. However, the second of the double for the owners was certainly a surprise to everyone when Platinum Emperor won the feature race – Wilayah Silver Bowl Trophy – over 1200m. The hot favourites were Witnessimpact and Pacific Vampire who went up front to set the pace and with 300m left, it looked like these two were left to fight it out. But within a blink of an eye the race completely changed and Platinum Emperor stormed home on the outside of runners to win by over 2 lengths after a brilliant ride by R Nuqman. The minors were filled by Shirvo and Ototo which ended up as a carryover trifecta and forecast four! It was a huge upset but the owners will be delighted as within the first month of their horses featuring on the racetrack, they already have a winner, a double and a feature race win under the belt.

This is certainly the first of many more victories to come and hopefully can kickstart the trend of syndication in Malaysia as it is a very popular ownership concept across the world and especially in Australia.
