Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
A rather ordinary maiden to open with. (7) MISS FAMOUS has a 4th and a 6th from two starts so far, both at this distance. Ignore the times as the track was very slow, but she ran through the line fairly enough on both occasions. CC gets on and third up she be peaking. After an inauspicious debut, (8) RAON SPILETTA has posted a 4th and a 5th, both at this distance. In this company she can compete for the early lead and can be in the finish. (1) CRAZY MARI debuted fairly last August but didn’t run again until December when she was less impressive. She does draw the inside gate though and may be a bit fitter this time. (4) LASER RUN has been back to trial since a woeful debut and should be better this time around. Debut-maker (10) GREAT CHARM trialed adequately and in such a weak race, has to be given a chance first-up.
Selections | (7) Miss Famous (8) Raon Spiletta (1) Crazy Mari (4) Laser Run |

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
Fillies only in this maiden and (6) I AM GO will be the warm favourite. She is yet to finish outside of the top five across her five starts to date and enters off a 3rd place at 1200M on January 11th. She should get quite an easy lead here and can go all the way. (7) SWITCH POWER actually finished ahead of I Am Go when they ran 4th and 5th over this trip last November. She has since picked up a 5th and a 3rd in two subsequent starts and shapes as the main danger. (4) JUNMA FORCE came from well off the pace to run an improved 4th at start number two on December 29th and can continue to make progress here. (11) SAMJEONG WINNER and (10) MODERN DANCE are the other main place chances.
Selections | (6) I Am Go (7) Switch Power (4) Junma Force (11) Samjeong Winner |

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(6) TAPDINE has run twice and finished 3rd twice, both at 1200M and most recently when slightly slow away on January 11th before quickly being ridden up to the pace. He steps up to 1400M for the first time and can win from the front. (2) RAON NOTHERN DANCE has made good progress across four starts, culminating in 2nd place at 1300M on January 19th. In this company and well-drawn, he can also be expected to be on the speed and to be in this a long way. (7) GRAND KWAEMA has been consistent across his four starts so far, never finishing worse than 4th. Moon Se-young stays on and he should be there or thereabouts today. (9) GWANAKSAN CHECK IN may appreciate the additional distance today and along with (8) DYNAMIC SONG is another to consider for the minors.
Selections | (6) Tapdine (2) Raon Nothern Dance (7) Grand Kwaema (9) Gwanaksan Check In |

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
Twelve fillies in the south coast opener. (2) QUEEN LIRUN debuted on December 22nd but laid out and became unmanageable before being discontinued with three furlongs left. She was ordered to take two trials as a result and came through them very nicely, finishing 3rd in one and winning another. She draws nicely to lead and if she behaves, she can win. (11) BLACK TREE was an improved 4th at start number two over this distance on December 13th. She comes in fresh after ten weeks off and with Seo Seung-un climbing on, may well start as favourite. (10) GLOBAL HEROINE was found to be lame after a disappointing outing last month. She came back into work on February 9th and going on her 3rd place at the start before, has to be in this. (5) QUEENS DRAGON and first-time starter (7) FINAL ATTACK are others to consider.
Selections | (2) Queen Lirun (11) Black Tree (10) Global Heroine (5) Queens Dragon |
Next Best | 7, 3 |

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(3) GOLD QUEENS was a winner on debut in November before running a fair 4th on her first try at this class, again at 1200M, on January 11th, settling midfield and running on. She draws well, stays under a light weight, and she can win here. (1) NAEGILUI YEOJEONG got promoted to this class with a pair of runner-up finishes and then immediately got his maiden win on January 19th. He comes up 4kg in weight, but from the inside gate can get to the lead and can repeat. (8) WONDERFUL DONGCHON is up in class having scored at this trip aon January 5th and he can measure up in this company. (2) GAMUN PARTY and (9) HAKSAN DARK HORSE others who can be in the mix in a competitive race.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(7) FLYING THE KHAN enters off back-to-back 3rd place finishes over 1300M. He has a smart finish on him so the slight step up in trip can be to his benefit and he can win here. (5) FAST QUEEN came from well off the pace for an improved 2nd place on what was her first try at this distance on January 12th with a couple of today’s rivals behind. The track was very slow that day so ignore the time, and she is another who can be dangerous late on. In contrast, (3) SEOGWI WORLD should be on pace. He weakened on debut but should have derived benefit from the run and nicely drawn he can be in this a long way. (11) STAR FORCE and (4) ROCK CANDY are among other place chances.
Selections | (7) Flying The Khan (5) Fast Queen (3) Seogwi World (11) Star Force |
Next Best | 4, 1 |
Fast Start | 2, 3, 9, 12 |
Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(8) ELDORADO HEUNGBU is yet to win in seven attempts but has five top four finishes. Most notably on his latest start on January 26th, he beat four of today’s rivals on his way to 2nd place over 1700M and remaining under a light weight, he will be favoured to go one better today. (1) EUNPA MUSIC comes up in class having led every step of the way for an emphatic win over 1700M on January 25th. He is down in weight, he draws well, and the manner of that victory suggests that he can measure up at this level. (6) SPEED CARA beat Eldorado Heungbu as the pair finished 3rd and 4th at this class and distance two starts back and while the latter returned the favour in that January 26th race, Speed Cara can be given another chance here. (4) DREAM CARD and (2) MIGHTY BOM among others to consider.
Selections | (8) Eldorado Heungbu (1) Eunpa Music (6) Speed Cara (4) Dream Card |
Next Best | 2, 11 |
Fast Start | 1, 8, 9, 11 |
Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(3) SWORD MASTER is the one to beat. He got his maiden win at start two over 1200M last October before finishing as an also-ran in the G2 Breeders’ Cup Rookie for juveniles. Since then, he has run 2nd in both subsequent appearances, most recently beating plenty of today’s rivals on January 26th when on pace throughout over 1400M. Munro knows him well and nicely drawn; he can go one better today. (10) YOUNG SKYWALKER won at this class two outings back before racing wide in that race on January 26th. He carries the same weight but is worth another chance here. (6) WORLD HIT stepped up to the mile for the first time on January 19th and ran a solid 3rd, ahead of a couple of others who return here, and he can be in the mix. (1) RACE MAN and (2) SEKWANG LIGHT are others to keep safe.
Selections | (3) Sword Master (10) Young Skywalker (6) World Hit (1) Race Man |
Next Best | 2, 12 |
Fast Start | 1, 3, 4, 6 |
Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
Tricky race but (7) TRISTAN WANGJA led all the way to win at this class and distance on January 19th. He does mix his form but an apprentice being booked means his weight stays light and if he can get to the lead again, he can go all the way again. (8) POWERFUL SOCKS enters in consistent form, most recently running 3rd at this class and distance on January 26th coming from well off the pace. He carries his fair share of weight, but he is accustomed to that and can be a big danger late on. (11) HEUIMANGUI CHANGA won over this distance at class 5 level two outings back before finishing 4th on his first try at this level on January 29th. He has the challenge of the widest gate here but shouldn’t be dismissed. (1) SEONGSIL YEONGUNG and (3) RISING MO also in at least placing contention.
Selections | (7) Tristan Wangja (8) Powerful Socks (11) Heuimangui Changa (1) Seongsil Yeongung |
Next Best | 3, 4 |
Fast Start | 5, 6, 7, 9 |
Busan Race 4: Class 1 (2000M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million
An also-ran in last October’s G1 President’s Cup at Seoul, (3) GRAND SUN has since run twice, finishing 2nd both times at this class and distance and both times beating a few of today’s rivals. With Mach Titan putting everyone out of the handicap, he is able to continue under a light weight and he can go one better today. (6) GANGSEO GIANT won the Listed Kookje Shinmun Trophy over 1400M two starts back before finishing down the field over the same distance in January. The distance is a question here, but she has plenty of ability and can be a threat. (9) WORLD DRAGON was 4th behind Grand Sun on December 29th and should be going close again. (7) FANTASTIC MAN and (5) ALIVE STAR are the others who will be backed on a place line.
Selections | (3) Grand Sun (6) Gangseo Giant (9) World Dragon (7) Fantastic Man |
Next Best | 5, 2 |
Fast Start | 2, 6, 8, 9 |
Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
After running 4th on debut, (1) BRAVAZO EMPIRE got his maiden win at start number two over 1300M on December 14th leading for most of the way. He is up 2kg in weight, but he comes in fresh, draws well, and will be favoured to repeat. (3) MIGHTY EVER is one for one having come from off the pace to score at this class and distance on debut on January 25th. He only carries an additional kilogram and shapes as the primary danger here. (11) MR. TROT weakened over 1400M last time out, but he drops back in trip today to the distance at which he got both his wins and also has 2nd and 3rd at this class. He is versatile so can lead or come from off the pace so the wide draw shouldn’t be a problem. (4) GEOSEN JINGYEOK and (5) GEUMBIT CHEONHA others in the frame.
Selections | (1) Bravazo Empire (3) Mighty Ever (11) Mr. Trot (4) Geosen Jingyeok |
Next Best | 5, 9 |

Busan Race 5: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(12) JEONSEOLUISUNGAN returned from nine-months out in December and has recorded a 4th and a 3rd in two starts back, the latter at this class and distance on January 19th when slow away from the same wide draw as today and running on. Munro stays on and third-up he can be peaking. (10) DANGDAE STAR won at this class and distance last October and while he was an also-ran in the G2 Breeders’ Cup Rookie the following month, he returned to some form with a 3rd place at a mile on January 17th when leading into the home straight. He can be on pace and a danger. (4) DUSTIN MARINE is up rapidly in class, having won his latest two at 1300M and 1400M, both times leading practically the entire way around. He is down in weight, he draws well, and he can measure up in this company. (3) TROPHY WARE and (11) FANTASTIC BLUE are others to look out for.
Selections | (12) Jeonseoluisungan (10) Dangdae Star (4) Dustin Marine (3) Trophy Ware |
Next Best | 11, 7 |

Seoul Race 8: Class Open (1400M) Special Weight A / Sports Seoul Trophy (KOR-Listed) / KRW 200 Million
Seoul’s Classic Trial. (11) CAPTAIN P.K. won the Rookie Stakes and the Listed NACF Chairman’s Trophy leading him to be sent off as favourite for the G2 Breeders’ Cup Rookie over 1400M at Busan in November. He led that race but ultimately finished 2nd as a bunch of closers swept by. He ran a close 2nd at 1700M at class 4 level in January and can return to winning ways here. After finishing 3rd on debut, (9) ONE PUNCH DRAGON has won three in a row, up to a mile and class 4. He will be on pace here and can be in things a long way (4) BEST RACE similarly comes in having won his latest three, in his case up to this distance and class 4. He is another who likes to be on the speed and he draws very nicely. (2) CHAN FAMOUS and (1) LONG RUN BULPAE among others who can be considered.
Selections | (11) Captain P.K. (9) One Punch Dragon (4) Best Race (2) Chan Famous |

Busan Race 6: Class Open (1400M) Special Weight A / Gyeongnam Shinmun Trophy (KOR-Listed) KRW 200 Million
Busan’s Classic Trial. (5) CHOGYEOKCHA won back-to-back races from wide draws over 1400M and a mile by big margins before running 4th when stepped up to 1800M at class 4 level on January 24th. Back to one turn and drawn well, he can return to winning ways. (2) DRAGON NINJA probably starts as the betting favourite. He won his first two starts and then ran a good 2nd in the G2 Breeders’ Cup Rookie at this distance in November, coming from well off the pace. He kicked off his three-year-old season as beaten favourite when on pace and 2nd over a mile at class 4 level on January 12th and from a great draw it would be no surprise if he went one better. (3) OASIS BLUE is already a two-time winner over the Korean Derby distance of 1800M including his latest at class 4 on January 5th. His other win came at this trip, and he shouldn’t be dismissed. (1) YONGBI PAEWANG and (9) WONDERFUL GROOM who got the Listed Gimhae Mayor’s Trophy off Oasis Blue in the stewards’ room last October, are others to consider among what is a small but highly competitive field.
Selections | (5) Chogyeokcha (2) Dragon Ninja (3) Oasis Blue (1) Yongbi Paewang |
Next Best | 9, 8 |
Fast Start | 3, 7, 6, 9 |
Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(5) YONGAM SESANG got a 2nd and a 3rd from his first two before winning four on the bounce, most recently at class 4 level over 1400M on January 18th, leading all the way. He is up in class here as well as up to 1800M for the first time and he doesn’t get much of a weight break so he is going to have to be very good to make it five in a row, but he can. (11) UMAPOY is done no favours by the draw, but he ran a close 2nd at this class and distance as recently as November and he may offer some interest at a potentially each-way price. (4) DREAM HONOR ran 3rd on his first try at this class over 1400M on January 11th. Like Yongam Sesang, he comes up to two-turns for the first time, but Moon Se-young climbing on will make plenty take note. (7) EAST WEST and (1) A. P. PATEK others to consider on a place line.
Selections | (5) Yongam Sesang (11) Umapoy (4) Dream Honor (7) East West |
Next Best | 1, 3 |
Fast Start | 2, 5, 10, 11 |
Seoul Race 10: Class 2 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million
(8) FINAL K is one of the most exciting three-year-olds around but as an American bred, he isn’t Triple Crown qualified and hence he goes here instead of in the Classic Trial earlier. He is a winner of three from four with his only defeat being a runner-up finish to the still unbeaten Wonpyeong Storm in the Listed Gwacheon Mayor’s Trophy. One for one at this distance and under a light weight, he can continue his progress here. (3) BEST TORCH was a winner over 1200M tow starts back before running 2nd at 1400M on his first try at this class on January 18th, beating three of today’s rivals in the process. She can sit handy to the speed and be a danger. (10) BLUE LEMON found herself overmatched in the final two Queens’ Tour races but returned to form with 3rd place at this class over 1800M on December 20th. She’s two for two at 1400M and can be in the mix here. (6) EUNPA CHAMPION and (1) OHRA KHAN the best of the rest.
Selections | (8) Final K (3) Best Torch (10) Blue Lemon (6) Eunpa Champion |
Next Best | 1, 11 |
Fast Start | 4, 6, 8, 9 |
Seoul Race 11: Class 1 (2000M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million
(11) BLACK BELT is two for two over 2000M, most recently winning in a decent time at class 2 level last October. That gained him a shot at the G1 Grand Prix Stakes over 2300M at the start of December where he ran 8th of fourteen behind Global Hit. The wide draw shouldn’t be a problem as there is plenty of time to find a position before the turn and he can maintain his 100% record for the distance. (4) JANGSAN MONSTER returned from five months out to run 4th at a mile in December and then on January 26th 3rd at this distance, both at class one level. He should be race sharp for this and has every chance. (8) GANGPUNGMA was 4th behind Jangsan Monster in that January 26th race and can go close again. (3) DRAGON STAR and (6) YONGAM BOSS are others to look out for.
Selections | (11) Black Belt (4) Jangsan Monster (8) Gangpungma (3) Dragon Star |
