Trainer Alan Greeff has another stable star with three-year-old filly Splicethemainbrace and she has already won eight from just 10 starts and she can take out Race 6, the Breeders Guineas (Listed) over 1600m on Friday on the Fairview turf track.
Splicethemainbrace won all five of her juvenile starts, three of them narrowly, but she sprinted well and always found the line at the right time.
Her first run as a three-year-old saw a defeat and it was a weak performance.
It was easy to pin that defeat to a soft track and the 1000m not being ideal for her anymore.
The Master Of My Fate filly then took a chance on the Polytrack and she was impressive as ever scoring easily over 1400m.
Her trainer does not raid out of province often, but he did take her to Hollywoodbets Kenilworth for a crack at a feature race and she raced wide and was well beaten.
It was on a soft track, yet again.
Returning to her home track, she impressed on the Polytrack on 7 January and again on the turf on 24 January.
Jockey Richard Fourie has only been beaten once in nine starts on this filly.
Last Friday we did see them switch from the turf to the Polytrack and if there is rain again the supporters of Splicethemainbrace will be hoping they switch to the Polytrack again
There are some Western Cape raiders to make the race interesting. Trainer Candice Bass-Robinson sends down the Querari filly From A Distance. She has improved with blinkers and could like the step up to 1600m.
Justin Snaith is having an excellent season and very well-bred Bela Vista will be out to capsise the locals runners.
Protect The Dream has run well in both her starts at this course and should also contest the finish.
