Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Nine maiden fillies and one gelding in the opener. (6) GEOLJAK HAPPY is one of only two in the field to have a top three finish on her record, something she managed last September over 1000M. She returned from three months out on February 23rd to run a fair 6th of eleven and stripping fitter today, has as good a chance as any. (9) NURI JILJU has run 6th in both her starts so far at 1300M and at this distance. She has demonstrated a decent start so in this company, she can be on pace and be a threat. (5) SEMYEONG GHOST is the other to have placed in her case when 3rd three starts back at 1300M and that’s enough to have her in contention here. (7) JISAN FRIEND and (2) GEUMGYEPORAN others who could potentially improve in a weak field.

Seoul Race 2: Class 4 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 75 Million

Imported maidens with two standouts. After a positive trial (9) NICE FORCE was well supported on debut when he overcame the widest gate to sit handy and run on for 4th. That was back in December so he comes in here fresh after fourteen weeks out, Ruan Maia climbs on, and he can win. The danger is (5) TANSEONGUI BANSEOK. After a slow start, he rattled home from a long way back to beat three of today’s rivals when 2nd on debut on February 22nd. He comes into a much better gate this time and if he can be a bit closer a bit sooner, he can go one better. (3) GLOBAL COMPUTING did nothing on debut in January, but he has since been back to trial, which he came through well finishing in 2nd place in a decent time. CC being booked suggests he can be better this time around. (10) GLOBAL PHAROAH and (11) CALM IN STORM are potential other ones who can improve.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(5) KARA K will be one of the shorter priced favourites of the day. She has three top five finishes from four starts so far with her best being a 2nd place two starts back over 1200M. She enters off a 4th place at 1300M on February 16th and while up to this trip for the first time, she won’t need to improve much to win this. (6) HERO CHOICE comes in off an improved 3rd place at start number three on February 22nd, coming from well back at 1300M. The slight increase in distance can suit and he can go close again here. Veteran maiden (9) TRES VITE is yet to finish in the top two in twenty-eight starts but he has no fewer than fourteen finishes between 3rd and 5th and this is the kind of company he can pick up a cheque in again. (7) LADYBIRD and (4) GRAY PHANTOM other place chances.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(7) PASA KING is very much the one to beat here. He broke his maiden at start two last November and has since raced twice at this class and distance, running 3rd both times. He comes in under similar conditions and among slightly softer company, he can win. (1) ROYAL BEST doesn’t win out of turn but has plenty of minor money finishes and from a good draw, this is the kind of race in which he can be on pace and in things a long way. (4) HAKSAN DAESE will need a line drawn through her latest when she struggled from a wide draw. Harry climbs on here and he can be a danger. (5) SSANG OK RU and the up in class (10) LADY BLUE are others who can compete for the minors.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Decent race for fillies (and one mare) with plenty entering in good form. (9) MIGHTY LOVE was a winner on debut in January before running 2nd at this class and distance on February 9th, coming from off the pace both times. She has an additional 3kg to deal with, but she has a superior finish on her to the rest and she can swoop home late here. (7) TURBO CHARGE is up in class having secured her maiden win at start five over 1300M on February 16th when leading from gate to wire. That win had been coming and she can measure up in this company. (5) RAON THE AFFIRMED was 3rd in that same race on February 16th. She has now been 3rd in all three of her appearances and nicely in here she can be competitive. (11) HAKSAN CHAMP was a winner on debut and with Maia staying on, she can be in the mix. (3) SONGAM SKY another in the frame.

Selections

(9) Mighty Love (7) Turbo Charge (5) Raon The Affirmed (11) Haksan Champ

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Competitive race. (9) DALKONG just about gets the nod. Despite being a maiden, she has been knocking at the door across her ten starts, notably her latest when 3rd over 1800M. She’s at the top of the weights here but she can settle handy and run on and in this slightly weaker than usual company, she can make her breakthrough. (2) NAVID has mixed his form across four starts so far and he struggled to make an impact on his first try at this distance on February 15th. Hopefully he learned a bit from that and if we go on his 2nd place two outings back at 1400M, he can be given another chance. (10) NAMSAN MUJEOK similarly can be given a pass on his latest and can be in the frame. (7) HERO JJANG and (1) WIN CATCHER other minor money hopes.

Selections

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(3) SATANG SONYEO won back-to-back races over 1400M and 1700M at class 4 level at the end of last year and then ran 2nd on her first try at this class over a mile on February 22nd. The step up to 1800M can suit and from a good gate, she can settle back and prove too strong at the business end of the race. (8) K N LIGHT has been working back towards another win with a 3rd and a 2nd from his latest two, both at this class and distance. He comes up 2kg in weight here but should be there or thereabouts again. (9) A. P. PATEK and (1) EAST WEST came home 3rd and 5th respectively when they raced one another at this class and distance on February 23rd, and both can be in the mix once more. Last start all the way winner (11) MAGIC POTION is up in class and has the challenge of the widest gate but is down in weight and shouldn’t be discounted.

Selections

(3) Satang Sonyeo (8) K N Light (9) A. P. Patek (1) East West

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(1) CITY KING was a class and distance winner two starts back before running 3rd in a similar race on March 9th when he led for much of the way. He carries 4kg more than that win but he draws well to get to the lead, and he will be a short price to return to winning ways. (8) TRAUM KING returned from four months out to win over 1200M at class 5 level on February 23rd. He is up in class and up to the mile for the first time, but he can strip fitter for that run and can measure up in this company. (6) SINUI BANJEON enters off a 4th place over 1400M a month ago. She has since been back to trial, which she completed in a double-quick time, and she can be a threat here. The form drops off after those three with (4) YONGBI POWER and (3) LAFAYETTE, perhaps the best of the rest.

Selections

(1) City King (8) Traum King (6) Sinui Banjeon (4) Yongbi Power

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(3) CAPTAIN TIME has eight top three finishes from twelve starts and enters off a 2nd and a 3rd from her first two tries at this class, both at 1400M and both times racing on pace. She comes up to a mile for the first time, CC stays on, and she can win. (5) BARO DANAEUN has never been outside the top two and has won all of his latest four, most recently at this class over 1200M. She too tackles 1600M for the first time and she comes up in the weights, but a five-timer isn’t impossible. (10) UASEN continues the trend in that she has never been worse than 3rd in five starts. She is up in class and in trip following a comfortable score over 1400M on February 15th but she is down in weight and third-up after a lengthy absence, she can be peaking fitness wise. (7) COWBOY TANGO and (4) TAEPYEONG LEGEND others in the frame in a competitive field.

Selections

(3) Captain Time (5) Baro Danaeun (10) Uasen (7) Cowboy Tango

Seoul Race 10: Class 2 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(6) YEONGUNG BUHWAL was a winner of four from six up to July last year, after which he didn’t reappear until this year. Having beaten Wonpyeong Storm in a trial he didn’t do much on his return in January but showed flashes of his old form when 3rd at this class and distance on February 8th. Third up, he can get it right. That will mean overturning the form on (11) BLACK CHOCOLATE, who won that February 8th race. He too is third-up following a lengthy absence and while he has the challenge of an additional 3.5kg, he can be competitive again. (9) GANGNAMBULCHUNGGAK won a valuable Trophy race at this distance last September and has an overall record of five wins from ten. He comes in fresh following thirteen weeks out and can be dangerous. (1) RAON THE  MAN and (4) UWARYUNG others to consider.

Selections
